title says it all:p Would like to know which combinations of Mobo's/PCI devices/Ram type yield the most stable/glitch free. Thanks in advance.

You won't know unless you test it out. I have a MSI K7T Turbo with a 1.2 ghz tbird and mushkin ram, and haven't had any compatibility or stability issues

You're going to be getting varying opinions regarding this. For what it's worth, I have an Epox 8K7A+ and it performs admirably.

Yes, but What do you have on the motherboard? What kind of ram and what pci devices?

I have an Asus A7M266 with a Retail Athlon 1.4GHz and 512 MB of Crucial 2100 DDR RAM. Also in the system is a Sound Blaster Live, ATI Radeon LE 32MB, 3COM Win 56K Modem, and a cheap Linksys NIC. I run W2K Professional SP2 as my OS. This computer has been up and running for about three months and I have not had to reboot (except when installing something) or had any other major lockups. This system is more stable than my Dell PIII 500. I was very leery about putting together an AMD based system, but so far I am beyond pleased.

check the signiture for my computers, all are 100% reliable, apart from the MSI motherboard died once, and got RMA'd (so not quite 100% ;) )

didn't have a problem setting up an ECS K7S5A + Duron 800 w/ riptide audio+modem and pandex gf2 MX 32mb in win2k and win98

it was exceptionally easy...plugged everything in, turned it on, it worked...

the only thing i had to do was remove the 3-pin connector for the powerLED since the board only has a 2-pin location on board...
(which makes sense since the stupid thing only uses two of the pins....dont' know why they ship cases w/ 3-pin connectors - traditionalists?)

i only installed the AGP gart driver for the chipset (ver. 1.07)

then again, i read an entire K7S5A forum so i knew what i was in for...

set all IDE devices to PIO mode 5 in bios for UDMA/DMA support

thanks nortexoid and everyone else. I've decided to get the ECS K7S5A, but the place I want to buy it from is out of stock :-(.
