Most powerfull desktop for $800?

My budget right now is only $800. I love playing games so I need to find the most powerfull machine I can build for gaming as close to $800 as possible.

Any suggestions from the pros?
 

well, what do you have to work with, anything? k/b, monitor, OS, drives? or is it all from scratch?
 
Hmm, good point. Let's just do hardware for now. Let's not do any KB, mouse, monitor, just everyhting inside the tower(including the tower).
 
are you confortable building your own computer?
cause with 800 bucks for just the tower you can get yourself
some very good stuff.
 
Yeah, I am more than capable of building a PC. I'm just not too sure on prices and performance right now. I haven't kept up much. I'm trying to spec out a PC for my little brothers teacher. Just trying to get some ideas because I have none.
