I have a roach on the wall, and with the high ceilings in my place, it's well out of my reach. I'm thinking of picking up a nerf gun for these situations but need something powerful enough to do some damage to roaches. People with kids, what's the best nerf gun I can purchase to accomplish this?

We do Nerf wars at work and "Nerf N-Strike Elite Centurion Blaster" seems to have the furthest range. However, imho, something simple and cheap like "Nerf N-Strike Mega BigShock Blaster" should do the trick as well for a roach. Mega darts do have a soft tip, I don't think any of them will damage the wall.

Hey, it is a roach on a wall so it may move if you don't get it with the first shot. You might have to chace that succker down.

Why do people insist on smashing bugs? That's the most disgusting thing I can imagine, other than the smashed frog left on the pavement I saw the other day (apparently run over by a tire). People are stepping on all kinds of bugs and without a second thought, they walk around in their house with those shoes minutes later.

Catch those damn things in a container (like a CD spindle top), and dispose of it either in the toilet or outside. It's much simpler and cleaner.

I just let my cat handle most bugs. For spiders some can be poisonous to cats so I just give them a back hand to knock em out without squishing them and then throw it outside or in the toilet.

As for shoes, most sane people don't walk all over their house in shoes. Though sometimes I might if I was outside and needed to get something in the house real quick and I'm too lazy to take them off.
