Not counting OEM's, the Celeron 300a's and the 366's coupled with Abit Bh6's were probably some of the best selling aftermarket mobo/cpu combos.

Me, I'd put my money for "most popular computer built" either on a Commodore 64 or maybe even a TRS-80.... everything that's come since then has changed so fast it's hard for any one product to be "popular" for any length of time. Back in January, if I had built a Athlon 1 ghz, it would have been top of the line (or close to it)- today it's what I use for economy builds.....

Intel Pentium 200MMX
ASUS P55T2P4 or P55TVP4
Quantum SE 4.3GB HDD
32MB EDO RAM
Diamond Stealth 2000/Diamond Stealth 2000 Pro
Creative SB16
Panasonic 24x CDROM

Now that was a popular set up.

I think the figure for C64s was something near 30 million worldwide. There were only two major versions of the C64, the original and the C64C which had a sleek new design. I'm sure some Apples are contenders too, though, I'm not all that familiar with how many of a specific model were sold.
