Most P4 1.6A's are hitting 133FSB (533QP) easily. What about 1.8A's?

Just looking for the best bang-for-the-buck. Sorry if I'm flooding so many different threads about it 🙂
So how easy is it to hit 133FSB (2.4Ghz) w/ a 1.8Ghz part?
Stock cooling is usually OK w/ the 1.6A from what I can tell. What about this situation?

From overclockers.com (average OC):

1.6A 37 2326
1.8A 24 2466
2.0A 3 2789

The 37 1.6As average 2326 MHz nearly reaches the 1.8A average. This is backed up by the amount of "let downs" folks are having with the 1.8As at least according to the posts you read on the boards.

I put together my system last friday.. so far I'm at 139fsb. No issues or hassles... I really like these northwoods! 🙂

I bought 2 1.6a's and 1 1.8a.. Both 1.6a can boot at 2.4+ghz (one can POST at 2.6Ghz but unstable).. I set them at 2.25ghz for stability according to prime95.

The 1.8a sucks ass. I could only get that thing to barely 2ghz.. it wouldn't even POST any higher. Good thing I was able to return it though. 🙂

My 1.8A runs 2.25 GHz rock stable (1.60 V) and runs 2.4 GHz (1.675-1.7V) pretty well. I run it at 2.25 GHz mainly so that I can run the memory @ 333 MHz DDR with the 4:3 ratio.

Oh yeah power supply is a big issue to consider with P4's. Make sure you have a PS with the square 4-pin 12V adaptor for high overclocks; the "EZ-Plug" (regular HD connector) is not nearly as good as the square connector. I couldn't hit 2.4 GHz before I got a new 350W Enermax PS with the square connector.

are you sure it wasn't just the psu itself and not the 12V line? the EZ-Plug should work exactly as P4 one

I have (2) 1.8a cpus running at 2.52 (140fsb) easily at 1.65v. Both will flake out at 1.7 at 2.61 (145fsb). It depends on how lucky you get with the chip. 😉

My 1.8 runs 2.52ghz (140fsb) right now (prime tested) @1.775v...I can post into windows and run benches and basically internet and do most anything at 2.610ghz (145fsb) @1.8v, but it will fail pcmark2002 and prime95....Getting a new PS to deliver more amps on 12v rail and see if that helps...

My 1.8 runs stable and default voltage only up to 2088mhz (116fsb)...At 2.4ghz (133fsb) I need 1.65v....At 2.45ghz I need 1.7v...and then the above...

With my board at 133fsb I can use the 4:5 ratio and achieve 333mhz ddr...memory scores are at 2600mb/s at 2.52ghz
