"kickin"

Me: Hi, Son. What have you been doing today?
My son: Kickin'
Me: I'm gonna kick your ass all over the house if you don't give me a straight answer.

Yeah, so I'm an old fart.

Uh. Because people can't consciously get it out of their vocab.

I'd like uh a whopper. Uh and no onions on uh that. Uh oh and uh a coke. And yes, uh I'd like fry's with that.

Like. Because like it's used in all like the wrong context. Like one day, in band camp, like I . . .

No wonder the English language sucks. You spend years and years learning it only to have the general population screw it up. At this point I don't good grammer exists anymore.

Synergy. It was cool the first three times I saw this word. Now every other word in any business publication is synergy. The phrase "thinking outside the box" is also getting quite annoying.

"hero" - applied indiscriminantly to anyone in uniform who happened to be around Chambers Street/WTC area during "9-11" attack whether or not they did anything, and regardless of the fact that it was their occupation to do so.

"coward" - applied to those who took part in the attack. Is masterminding a suicide mission and dying for a cause (however unjust) cowardly? I think not.

"war on terrorism"
"war on drugs"

Sorry, but you can't have a war against a methodology (the former) or an inananimate object (the latter). Both are merely clever ways of masking one's true enemy - drug users and political enemies who use fighting tactics you disapprove of.

"early-adopter" - early adopter? You mean tech geek.
