Just about every movie that's won the Oscar for best picture. They're usually mediocre at best.

Recent highlights of this example:
Crash
Million Dollar Baby
A Beautiful Mind
TITANIC (lord how I hated this movie)
The English Patient
Il Postino

I could go on and on

Those three movies sucked so hard I couldn't believe I was watching the same film as the critics.

Million Dollar Baby was a good movie, what was your problem with it?

Most of the M Night Shamalanadingdong movies. I liked Unbreakable, I'd give it a 6/10.
Otherwise, I thought Signs and 6th Sense were absolutely retarded. Like, worse than Robocop 2. Haven't seen any of his others, and don't plan to.

The Descent.... Netflix critic sections have a crap load of 5 stars. I wouldn't give it one.

"Instant cult classic..." my ass

Citizen Kane.

Best Movie Ever. It was so terribly innovative and imaginative for it's time. That is what makes it such a great movie. It revolutionized filmmaking.

As much as the movie itself did nothing for me entertainment-wise, you're right.

There will be Blood has to be the most overrated movie of this decade followed by No Country for Old Men.
I havn't seen the former but i agree with you that Old Country For Old Men was wayyyy overrated.

Reservoir Dogs:
If it wasn't for that filthy torture seen that movie wouldn't even be on the radar.
Also, I was unable to finish watching 2001. So I don't know if it overrated or not.

2001 is rather slow, but considering when it was made and the Special Effects and cinematoraphy achieved it is quite impressive. I also think the story itself makes it a great movie.

There Will Be Blood. I watched 10-15 painful minutes of it. IM'd a buddy about how much it sucked, got warned not to watch more; that it didnt' get any better. I took his word for it. Honestly, unless the 15+ minute text of this movie is "Lol sorry, we were just kidding. It doesn't actually suck this much dick", it's T--H--E most overrated movie of all time.

Least overrated: American Beauty. Easily the #1 alltime, yet it's slipping to almost #40 and below on IMDB. WTH?

You don't get the privilege of declaring a movie overrated until you watch the whole thing.

especially after considering American Beauty underrated....it won more awards. wtf?

it is very obvious, all of you have missed your calling... elite and published movie critics, you all should have become.

indeed. AT again confuses "taste" with legitimate merit.
