Bacon,. Ham is far superior
Pho, I can make better with instant noodles
Pizza. I outgrew that shit.
Sushi, I just dont get it. Almost died once choking.

You are trying the wrong restaurants. A solid pork bone broth, with nice thin al dente noodles and a few pieces of tender pork. Now that's a meal to be treasured. I've tried 10 Japanese Ramen joints in the city and found the best few. Not all ramen is created equal. A good pork bone broth will make your knees tremble. It's my go to comfort meal, winter or summer.

I'm pretty sure the ramen restaurants I tried are considered good ramen shops.

You are just eating at the wrong places.

I tried ramen at Umadio and Haru Ichiban. Both are considered top ramen restaurants in Atlanta. Umaido is korean owned and pretty much only serves ramen. Haru Ichiban is also korean owned and is old school japanese restaurant and served ramen before hipsters knew about ramen. Haru Ichiban is very popular with visiting Japanese business crowd.

Do I like ramen? Yes. Do I like instant ramen more? Yes. I would be fine without eating another bowl of ramen shop ramen. I can't say the same about instant ramen. I need and crave instant ramen.

Coffee. Tastes bad, and even smells bad to me. I've basically substituted dark chocolate instead.

Crab legs, not a fan

I like crab cakes, but not really because of the crab

Crabs are delicious. Only issue is eating them, since many are skinny and have little meat in them. It's not satisfying, I'll agree. But King Crab and Florida Joe's Stone Crab Claws? Amazin.

It's entirely possible I haven't had great crab... But I'll bet what I had in Japan is about as good as you could ask for. I don't DISLIKE it, but it commands a premium and I don't know why.

Wow, a lot of you are in love with instant noodles <yike>.

I think sushi is overrated (tastewise). Caviar is too expensive for what it worths.

Rice.

Its just fuckin STARCH, people! Its not healthy. Its an energy block and not a particularly good one either.
You can get starch from anywhere and usually with a lot more nutrition.
8 ounces of potato has as much starch as 8 ounces of rice but also includes a metric butt ton of vitamins.

I have never heard of people singing praises of rice.

I had this fancy ramen the other day. The pork chashu was good. The duck chashu was good. The chicken broth was rich and creamy. It was fine bowl of ramen. But if I never eat it again, I wouldn't miss it. It's that simple.

But if I don't eat instant ramen like this Shin Ramyun, I might die. I know I will miss it if I go more than a week without eating it.

Fried eggs on most things. I love eggs. I love fried eggs. But a fried egg on a hamburger makes both of them worse.

Avocado. Other than in guacamole, it has no use as a foodstuff.

Everyone has different tastes. Good ramen and good cheeseburgers are top of my list. Along with some other foods and greek dishes. Ive been to multiple average ramen places and I won't go back. But the 4 good ones I know will always be close to my heart.

I'll go with Greek food. Been to a local Greek restaurant that is always busy and I've never come away impressed.

I live in an area with a lot of Greek immigrants, yet most Greek restaurants I go to are average. I'm pretty picky with Greek food because I'm Cypriot and used to my mothers food, plus I go to Cyprus every few years and am spoiled by the food there. There are no real exotic ingredients in Greek food so it should satisfy an American's palate - when done right.

Get some nice sized snow or king crab. Fire up the grill. Swab it with olive oil and sprinkle some old bay on it. Serve it with lemon and butter. HOLY FUCK. You cant get really nice snow crab for about 10 bucks a pound and a few times a year you can get king crab for the same price.
