That's SUCH a stupid, poseur would-be music critic claim. I won't address it again, except to say you're leaking copious amounts of equine shite out yer ears, son.

How so, Perknuts? Find me a song pre 1964 involving anything like that style of music. You will not find any. Thanks for playing.

I'm like my own straw man around here. All I have to do is state a fact and I will get tons of argument. It makes trolling easy.

There is a dude that covers Kashmir very well. In fact, so well...I like it better than Led Zeppelin's. I have been trying to find it for a while.

Do0d, that's WAY too easy. Dave Davies didn't invent anything, let alone metal, lol,

You want repetitive power chords? Here's Link Wray playing his 1958 hit Rumble.

And yet, neither Link Wray nor Dave Davies invented metal.

You trying to take something you read about the Kinks You Really Got Me and spinning that into your claim that the Kinks invented metal is just you being a twerp, per usual.

who cares if they "borrow" they have tons of amazing original songs.

Good point, a lot of bands "borrowed" of did cover versions, the Beatles had a monster hit with the Isley brothers "Twist and shout" and readily admit the influence of early R+B performers, Phil Collins and George Micheal made a ton of $$ in the '80's by covering or "borrowing" from old Motown acts..

The ones they did borrow sound a LOT better than the originals too. It was a common practice in that era. In todays 1 million lawyer SUE army, this type of behavior is unthinkable, but back then everyone did it. Half of Eric Clapton's and the Rolling Stone's catolog are remakes as well, but nobody cares about that.

"I'm sick to death of people saying we've made 11 albums that sounds exactly the same, Infact, we've made 12 albums that sound exactly the same." -- Angus Young

I love that quote so much.. Cracks me right up. The music is all enjoyable, if you ask me... I still love listening to AC/DC even after all these years.

I can't even remember if I posted in this thread already, but I hate U2... Terrible.

what is it with people that are apparently unaware of all of the work that U2 put out for the Joshua Tree and before? They were fucking amazing.

threads like this pretty much spawn nothing but troll posts, anyway. There's always an argument for how great bands can be shitty, and shitty bands can be tolerable.

...except for The Doors. They are completely overrated.

If a band has sold millions I don't see how they can be over rated. However, a band can over rate themselves. I think Oasis said they were better than the Beatles. I'd consider that to be over rated. Dave Grohl saying Nirvana was the best band ever is over rating Nirvana...
