Led Zeppelin
I hate Led Zeppelin, but I wouldn't say they were overrated. They almost single handedly launched heavy metal, and defined the proper style of a heavy metal band. They were hugely influential, but for little I like :^D
Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin are pretty much thieves. Very talented thieves.
The Kinks invented Heavy Metal in case anyone cares. Not LZ, not BS. LZ may however have invented techno.
LOL
heavy metal evolved out of psychedelic music. Bands like Vanilla Fudge, Blue Cheer and Iron Butterfly started heavy metal.
coldplay blows.
U2 is the most overrated band ever. The Beatles are #2.

um, no.The Kinks put out You Really Got Me years before any of those bands existed. I didn't say The Kinks were metal, just that they did the first metal song ever. They invented it, others took it and ran with it.
That January, the San Francisco band Blue Cheer released a cover of Eddie Cochran's classic "Summertime Blues," from their debut album Vincebus Eruptum, that many consider the first true heavy metal recording.
This needs proof as well.
They had the heavy metal attitude, with the dark look, and featuring occult themes. 3/4 of the hair bands from the 80s used Plant's vocal style.
Kinks were proto punk, not metal.
The Kinks didn't create heavy metal, they just brought about its inception via 'You Really Got me Now"
Something was happening, and you still don't know what it was, do you, Mr. Jones?

I was reading an article on this. I always liked Led Zeppelin. Didn't think they were OMG awesome, but if they were on the radio, the channel surfing stopped there.
Now I am pretty disgusted.
Never heard of that flick; any good? It looks like that Beatles based film, but centered on Dylan.
Let's get this straight. I NEVER CLAIMED The Kinks were metal. I simply said they invented it.
