Tom Cruise---great Actor, not over rated. He is, however, over exposed in real life and an all out freak only a couple steps from Micheal Jackson.

The only Actor listed I agree with is Ben Affleck. He's ok as an actor and I usually enjoy the movies he's in, but his characters always seem to be the one dragging the movie down. For whatever reason(probably boyish charm) the Movie business seems to put him into roles he just can't pull off. He's on track to becoming the next Tom Cruise in his personal life though, I expect another 6+ Marriages/Divorces to significant talents that keep him in the business.

#1 overated actor...Colin Ferral. WTF has he done to ber considered a top actor?

No kidding!

Nicolas Cage
I'll admit that I actually like Nicolas Cage. I think he's a pretty good actor in that he's been able to succeed in a variety of roles. Yes, his mannerisms carry over from role to role, but I find them genuine and entertaining so it doesn't bother me.

Leonardo DiCaprio
Can't stand the guy.

Johnny Depp
I'm not a huge fan or anything, but I do think he's a pretty remarkable actor. Watch Pirates and then watch Donnie Brasco.

Tom Cruise
He's the uninteresting version of Nicolas Cage. Same mannerisms movie to movie, except his wore thin quite some time ago.

Ben Affleck
Please... merely putting him on this list suggests the guy is at least an actor. Incorrect.

Julia Roberts
FINALLY I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!! I got sick and tired of her AGES AGO.

Angelina Jolie
Sorry, have to disagree there. Total hotness. I'd watch a movie of Angelina Jolie watching a movie of someone else watching paint dry.

Helent Hunt
Indifferent. I thought she did well in her major flicks, though.

Jennifer Aniston
Have to totally disagree. I think she's one of the more remarkable actresses of today. Watch Derailed and Good Girl and tell me she can't act.

Jennifer Connelly
Indifferent. Haven't seen enough, though I recall enjoying her performance with Crowe.

Um... Ashton Kutcher....

Goes without saying. Valiant effort in Butterfly Effect, but I just don't see him being taken seriously in the near future. He might be best served by laying low for a couple years, putting on some weight (he still looks like a 17 year old boy), and taking some tough roles.

Eh... blow by blow here:

Nicolas Cage
I HATE his acting. I've never seen him in a movie and liked him. Something about him just annoys the hell out of me, and I don't know why. That's not a personal slam on him, but I do think he's overrated. Also, he plays the same character in every movie, basically.

Leonardo DiCaprio
Agreed. He just looks good, so he sells movies.

Johnny Depp
Also agreed. He's a great actor, and even if he seems a little goofy sometimes, he's able to portray quite a nice range of characters and emotions.

Tom Cruise
"He's the uninteresting version of Nicolas Cage. Same mannerisms movie to movie, except his wore thin quite some time ago." Agreed, although he doesn't annoy me like Cage does. However, Cruise is a psycho.

Ben Affleck
Meh, indifferent.

Julia Roberts
I think she's pretty good. A little bland, perhaps, and sometimes not in a subtle way, but I think she's doing quite a good job.

Angelina Jolie
She's pretty hot, and seems to be a decent actor. Indifferent.

Helent Hunt
Who is she, again?

Jennifer Aniston
"Have to totally disagree. I think she's one of the more remarkable actresses of today. Watch Derailed and Good Girl and tell me she can't act." Yea - she may seem a bit ditzy, but I think she's a good actor. And I like Friends, so meh...

Jennifer Connelly
Indifferent.

That 70's Show FTW. Everything else FTL, although I think that he can do a pretty good job sometimes.

agreed...

I'm also in agreement with Sandra Bullock, Jim Carrey, Jackie Chan (although I think everyone would agree that his roles are more for comedy and martial arts action than for good acting), and I think John Travolta has been horrible in many of his roles - not that it distracted from the movies he's been in, but that any average actor could have done at least as good a job.

EDIT: to clarify. overrated: (the way i'm using it) the actor or actrss is not deserving of the hype they get. i.e. j depp can be a good actor, i didn't say he wasn't, just not as good as all of what people make hime out to be

You're dead wrong on males 1, 2, and 3 - especially Depp. And who ever said Cruise or Affleck could act? They're both awful and everyone knows it. Same with Jolie and Aniston. You want to talk about overhyped talk about Lohan or Hilton or another skank on the cover of magazines for no reason whatsoever.

Catherine Zeta Jones has to top that list. Also, Jessica Biel has to be in there.

Best answer, hands down.

However, if I had to choose one, it would definitely be Edward Norton.

You've got to be kidding. He's one of the best actors period.

I think DiCaprio is actually underrated, and Depp deserves all the acclaim he's getting. He's given great performances (Pirates, Donnie Brasco, Blow, Dead Man).

I agree with the rest of your list, Except for maybe Connelley. I've only seen a couple movies with her in it, but I never realized she was supposed to be all that. She's hot though.

Some more overrated actors/actresses:

1. Brad Pitt
2. Collin Ferrel
3. Orlando Bloom
4. Will Smith

1. Renee Zelleweger
2. Drew Barrymore

Sorry but Helen Hunt is an UNDERrated actress. She doesnt get nearly enough attention as she deserves for her talent.

Same with Jennifer Connelly, but I think her problem is not getting enough good movies to show her acting ability. She settles for crap.

Seems to me the OP just doesnt like some of these people and is mad they get any attention at all.

Although I will sat that AJ is getting more attention for her body than anything else. Not that I dont like her or anything.
