Memento

i've read that the whole memento plot trick has been done before, just not for some time.

it'd be pretty hard to say what the most original movie has been, there are a *lot* of movies out there.

I'm having a hard time thinking of most original cause there are so many....

Reservoir Dogs comes to mind along with Memento.

planet of the apes was so good imo ,atmospheric, with the nice brown chimps and the frightening black apes ,the lost underground cities

This thread will just be a pissing contest amongst people who proclaim to know the best 'underground' movies unless you just ask for a list of original movies. It is impossible to define the 'Most Original Movie' or the 'Best Movie of All Time'. I mean, look at the movie ratings on IMDB. The Godfather is rated at #1?

There's no way (imho) that this is the best movie of all time. We can't have definitive lists to have an all-inclusive, neatly wrapped package.

As far as original movies go, there are tons of 'em.

Is there something wrong with you? Can it be treated?

I think "The Usual Suspects" was a pretty original movie. Yeah, there are plenty of suspense movies, but not one where the character is making a suspense tale within a suspense tale, right there in the cops office.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 - The Movie.

It's a movie of people watching another movie and making fun of it. 🙂

Are you saying that because this film involves a guy who runs a newspaper, media people like this film? That has to be the lamest thing I've ever heard. 🙂

Citizen Kane was a landmark film for cinematography, editing and just overall storytelling. Not to mention, it was a very controversial film because of its being based off of the life of William Randolph Hearst. Hearst tried to buy up all of the film prints, including the original negative, of the film because of its content. If you've seen Citizen Kane, I highly recommend the film HBO did about the making of it called, "RKO 281."
