Ya....
Lets let a bunch of poor people with no skills into this country legally to suck off the taxpayers even more.

What could go wrong?

If I'm not mistaken, many of the European countries the left holds in such high esteem have extremely high barriers for legal immigration to their country -- education requirements and in some cases, income/net worth requirements. If anyone in the US suggests something similar, they're racists, of course.

I don't know about other countries but I know for a fact that Australia, New Zealand, and Canada all have strict requirements that you MUST fullfil before you can come in LEGALLY. Yet if the US just mention something like "let follow the immigration law and such" then we have all the screaming and holling of "rrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaccccccciiiiiiiiisssssssstttttttt"

Maybe we can do something like Australia is doing right now? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110514/ap_on_re_as/as_australia_malaysia_people_smugglers

Europe (yes, same one that many of you guys say the US should be more like it) is ready to close its open door policy = http://www.thestar.com/news/world/article/990634--dimanno-europe-ready-to-close-its-open-door-policy

But compassion for the wretched is thin on the ground, both among Italy’s citizenry and European countries alarmed that the illegal backwash will flood their own borders......
Unimpeded movement — no border controls, no passports or visas required — is central to the European Union’s concept of European integration; one big open continent. Twenty-five EU members plus Switzerland, Norway and Iceland were signatories in 1995 to the Schengen Accord that abolished border checkpoints and other transit controls. Now, suddenly, they’ve had a re-think.
Faced with the illegal migrant deluge, France was the first nation to object, with guards halting the entry of a train carrying about 1,000 French-speaking Tunisians who tried to cross at the Italian border town of Ventimiglia. President Nicolas Sarkozy called for changes to the accord, allowing countries to suspend the open frontiers policy.......And Denmark jumped the gun Wednesday by re-imposing stringent checks on its borders with Germany and Sweden.

What? Stop and check them ILLEGALS? Sooooooooooo rrrrrrrrraaaaaaacccccccciiiiiiiisssssssssttttt of those EU liberals (sarcasm).

Only a few thousands and you guys already scream. Imagine you have to deal with tens of MILLION of ILLEGALS like we (US) are doing now with the ILLEGALS.

One more thing, no response to my question on post #182 at all, guys that argued for ILLEGALS? Hellooooo??? ****echoes.......***

The first sentence in your quote says that it's on behalf of their American citizen children. That means they're not illegal immigrant families, but of a mixed status. How can an American be an illegal immigrant in the United States?

Why is it wrong for an American to utilize the resources the government made available to them?

lol the reason for the children is getting a check/plus other benefits to begin with. Do you know that these illegals don't pay federal income taxes either and get food for free either? Do you know how they do it?

I live in a sanctuary city we cater to these peoples needs and expect nothing but cheap labor from these anchor babies illegal parents.

They cannot get a job with the tax ID Modelworks speaks of. It's not a valid SS#.

You can get a job with the tax id number given. It looks exactly like a SS# except it starts with a 9 . During tax season there are places all over with signs up Latino, TAX ID returns in bold letters. All those places are not targeting corporations.

(Virginia Beach, VA) — Liberty Tax Service offices nationwide that exhibit the Hispanic Service Seal of Excellence on their storefront windows can be counted on to provide Tax ID (ITIN) application services FREE of charge for all immigrants who require this identification to file their tax returns. Through its Hispanic initiative – Una Familia Sin Fronteras – Liberty Tax service provides FREE services to the Hispanic community such as FREE ITINs, FREE tax education, FREE small business education, a FREE Interpreter’s Course for its bilingual staff and many more educational opportunities for Latino communities nationwide.*
Why would anyone need an ITIN number and why do they want to file taxes?
1) The ITIN will help undocumented immigrants open bank accounts, establish credit, buy car insurance, in some areas apply for home loans and generally enter the mainstream economy.
2) Since money is being withheld from each paycheck to cover benefits for which the undocumented immigrant does not qualify, i.e. Medicare, Social Security, etc., they can recover some of the withheld dollars by filing a tax return and declaring the dependents that qualify. For instance, because of our treaties with Mexico and Canada, a Mexican national can claim all of the dependents he/she might be supporting in Mexico, as well as in the states.
3) The undocumented immigrants can also file current year’s taxes, as well as the past three year’s returns and hopefully recover some of the monies that have been withheld over the years.
4) Tax returns are an excellent means of proving length of time in the United States which is a requirement for citizenship.
5) Because it is the law!

Yes, the tax ID number is used for filing tax returns (too). As I mentioned earlier we encourage nonresident aliens to invest here and that means they may have to pay taxes and file returns. It's a ID number for the IRS (and banks and brokerage firms etc).

But it is not a valid SS# and employers using as such to give them a job are breaking the law. As a means for aquiring a job it is no better, and perhaps worse, than simply using a fake/made up SS#.

I'm pretty sure the SS admin will send a letter to any employer using this for an employee and let them know it is invalid etc.

IIRC, the card with the tax ID# clearly states it is not valid for employment.

you're calling them "illegals" is a good illustration of how propaganda and dehumanization works, perfected by Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels, btw.

Not saying it's your idea, you most likely are just letting your mind be controlled, as intended.

What we are talking about here, are people. Some are citizens, some are not citizens but with papers, some are not citizens without papers. But they are people, not "illegals".

So you can advocate what you want to do to people, based on their status, but when you use a dehumanizing term to not admit you are doing it to people, you lose the legitimacy of your position.
Yes, they're people. But they're also fucking over all the hard-working, honest people who want to immigrate legally. We don't need millions of unskilled, uneducated people using up the social services in this country. We need smart people who can be entrepreneurs and contribute to the economy.
