ugh, just had a cup of breyer's strawberry ice cream. the taste is so-so, but its just not creamy at all. screw the "all natural" tagline...this crap doesn't even come close to dreyer's offerings.

on second thought...the texture of breyer's ice cream reminds me of ice cream that's been in the freezer for way too long. :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown:

Breyers is usually quite good. The reason you probably didn't like it is:

* The grocery store doesn't rotate its stock
* The grocery store has its freezers at the wrong temperature
* You drive around for an hour with it in your car before you take it home and put the half melted icecream back into your freezer to refreeze.

Given your last statement about the texture, I'm leaning toward the 3rd option here.
 
That stuff that comes in the big plastic tub with the handle on it. You know the one I'm talking about.
I am a Breyer's fan though. Can't beat an ice cream soda with Breyer's vanilla bean ice cream. Good stuff!
 
Grocery store ice creams that do it for me:

Breyers double churned chocolate chip mint - verrrrrry creamy.
Publix blackjack cherry. Huge chocolate chunks.
Häagen-Dazs vanilla and dark chocolate bars.

Wrong. Dreyers and Edy's are the same company. Dreyers is West Cost. Edy's is East Coast. Thats the reason that Edy's website is: http://www.dreyers.com/brand/grand/index.asp?b=134

Thats the worst, hands down.

Any ice cream is horrible after it melts and refrezes, or becomes freezer burnt

growing up we always had breyers and i never thought anythin of it but lately it doesn't seem good. hell, i like the weis brand better than breyers now.

Edy's and Hershey's is really good too.
