Most graphically impressive website designs? (static designs preferred, but exceptional Flash work is OK)

Please post a link to that website that just blew your mind away when you saw it... I'm about to have one designed and I know what I have in mind but I'd like to have a few real-life examples to present to the designer. In this way I'll probably come across the sites I can't remember right now... and possibly get some new ideas too.

Non-Flash is most useful to me since it will be a PHP over SQL page... but Flash or not, post away, the more eye candy the better for all :)

Thanks.

Ugh, that's absolutely horrible.
All the sounds on their site almost scared the crap out of me, friggin loud.
That and the fact that it takes freaking forever to navigate since their manus display loads of crap instead of the content they should display.

Fancy: yes if you like Star Trekish sites
Useful: hell no!

Hey, you didn't say the most intuitive, you said the most impressive.

That's probably the only site i've visited and thought "Holy sh!t this is good!"

as Sunner isn't the OP, he really can't be held accountable for what the title reads. :)

Google's web site always impressed me because of it's simplicity.

Compared to other search sites, this was the most appealing because it didn't have ads, 20 categories to search in, or a million links all over the place.

No no, you are absolutely right, confused (sounds like you addressed him as if he was the original poster, just clarifying that it was me). Usefulness can definitely be retrofitted onto an impressive design. Graphically that is team fcuking ridiculous :Q I might add that I've seen the old version (blue) before, and that was exactly what I was thinking about when I said I might stumble across some I forgot :D

And I have updated the title to reflect that useability is considered, but graphics are king here. :)

Chumpman, I'm not patient to go look for "the F150 microsite" or something, and it seems like they did a far better job with Broadcom's site than their own, at least it's fairly useful, if somewhat slow, which is in itself rather ironic for a communications corporation.

Confused, yeah it's nice Flash work, but still, the title read "impressive website design", website being the keyword, and I like sites that are quick and simple, AgentEL gave a perfect example.
If I wanna watch something fancy, I'll just drink a beer and watch Matrix. :)

Any good PHP examples out there? All the Flash sites are nice but my site will be PHP-over-SQL...

php doesnt have anything to do with graphic design. it's a way to process the content on the page.

kag, I know what php is. My point is that most of the examples posted are examples of good Flash animation, not just static layouts/graphic themes. It's hard to deliver those beautiful 2Advanced pages, for example, which depend greatly on soaring clouds and anime clips for the "Holy $hit" factor, with anything BUT Flash. So in that regard, PHP's inability to do that does make it weigh on the design.

This doesn't mean that PHP pages are condemned to ugly existances, as cr4zymofo suggested :) So that's what I'm primarily looking for... but people can post whatever since it's always fun to look at a well-done Flash page too :)
