There was a woman from Philly who named her daughter and I am serious, she named the child "chlamydia". Apparently a nurse tried to talk her out of it, but with no success. It was on the radio.

20 years ago I worked a part-time retail job. We had a teacher who worked summers, and he would tell us the crazy stuff he would encounter during the school year. One of his best stories was the female student named Vulva. Said her mom thought it had a pretty sound to it.

Unorthodox names for the Zappa siblings, but they are all very cool people. Frank should be smiling whereever he is because he did a very good job raising children.

In "Freakanomics," the chapter concerning trends in baby names includes an anecdote about a pissed-off aunt calling into a radio program because of the name given to her recently-born nephew. Yes, it was "Sh1thead," and it was pronounced "Shoo-teed."

Post 1 and 2 of this thread were the only other times I had heard that it had been given. How disturbing..
...damn, some people just need to be shot (wounded), ...or sterilized, maybe....

EDIT: ah...I've seen the Freakanomics chapter is quite popular.
...although I do remember it as being pronounced "shoo-teed"
