most extreme challenge...

is this one of the most pathetic shows on tv? for those that dont know, its people from japan doing stupid stunts.. like dodging foam bolders tossed at them, or trying to run through one of four doors that are made of wood or one made from paper... and if they make it through, they land in mud, that is apparently motor oil dumped on the ground (according to the announcers)

they have english announcers doing voice overs from the japanese hosts (who are wearing stupid outfits), and they make the most stupid comments. "this is betty the janitor at the golf course, looks like her wig fell in some oil" "thats jim who likes to lick dead squirrels" "that woman has a fat ass!!!" . and they have lame sound effects of the woman and men grunting and saying stuff they arent and wouldnt say.

and at the risk of sounding racist, why are all the participants so clumbsy and sloppy. do they just manage to pick the least physically capable japs for the show?

It's a great show if you limit your dosage of it. It can get old easily.

"That's the best dirty uncle I've seen."

It's a dub-over of a Japanese show called... Takeshi's Castle or something.

Personally, I find it hilarious in extreme matters. 😀

ok so im just not into totally stupid tv. I do love watching them make complete asses of themselves.. but the announcers annoy they sh!t out of me.

I personally really enjoy the show. It was an old (1980s?) game show in Japan. It eventually got cancelled when too many people got spinal injuries. Years later, someone at MXC saw the footage and decided to make funny (fake) voiceovers. No that isn't motor oil, it is a joke (often they say it is sewer runoff or something gross). As far as I know, MXC has never had the original footage translated so they have no clue what they actualy saying.

How the original game show picked its contestants is a mystery to me. I think the challenges are purposely made difficult so only a very small percentage of people can actually complete them and win. They play for nothing but the honor of winning (as far as I know).

Spinal injuries.....haha........I wouldn't doubt it as the funniest thing is watching people fall through those rolling wheels while trying to make it to the other side.

I read about the spinal injuries in a travel book as I was on the plane to Japan. I asked a few people there about the show, but it was so old they had trouble remembering details.

It kicks ass and it is hilarious. It is called Most eXtreme elimination Challenge. It was originally an old japan show (i beleive) called Tekishis Castle or something, as mentioned. Im pretty sure they might/are making new episodes. Anyways, yeah i like it and it's funny, dont judge it so fast 🙂

the new one was on last night too, from Orlando. Did you see that one? I missed it but was wondering if they still had the voiceovers for it.
