do you memorize everything.. or do you just keep reading your notes over and over

this if for those who get A's in bio tests, etc....

I actually like my biology class, and could get by with minimal studying. Science is probably the only subject that genuinely interests me. What I usually did was make my own practice test 😉

Pay attention in class, and then read the chapter. If you are in AP bio, read the AP Bio study guide book that everyone gets too.

If it's college bio I can't give you tips. I guess just find the person with the most different colors of pens/pencils and have them teach you to study.

I got As on the tests but only because I read the chapter before the test and the content usually interested me so I had an easier time remembering stuff.

Mucho  always works for me.

YOU BETTER be taking one down right now or you're not studying.🙂

Paying attention in class is most important. To study I would review outlines if you get them and if you don't understnad something then refer to the book. Also, as some people have mentioned some thing you just have to memorize.

If you find it hard remembering anything, biology may not for you. If you're in highschool, well, you can't do anything bout it.

High school biology can't be that bad though. Try some mnemonics, which will help you memorize a lot of things in life.

Here's a site for medical mnemonics, http://www.medicalmnemonics.com/ and if you do a google search for biology mnemonics, you will find a bunch. You didn't specify what part of biology you're studying, so I can't give an real examples.

college biology... studying reproductive system, digestive system, excretion system, kidney, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, and the list goes on and on.

all on the test tomorrow..... have to know basically every thing in detail .. not just broad but specifics. Lots of fvcking detail for just a 40 question test. :frown:

edit. not to mention all the hormones involved .... and the negative feedback/positive feedback for each specific process in the systems... etc.

ding ding ding... we would literally stay in the wee hours of the night doing that... sometimes drawing on it to remember all the crap we had to recognize... :| i switched to EE. 😕 which wasn't any better of course.

Aww well, maybe that portion of biology doesn't interest you. Just try to make it though. I have a biology degree too and I never took physiology in college 🙂

It sounds like you haven't had to take any biochem or ochem. Those, to me, seemed harder because not only was in memorization, but it's pretty much data, while the digestive system or cardiovascular system, can make a lot of sense and easily visualized.

ha, I always thought the opposite, I found orgo to be mostly concepts and the same with biochem(actually I'm in it now), while the straight bio courses were straight memorization
