Yeah so you can hear the suck louder

Bite your tongue

No, he's right. Death Magnetic is a boring, lackluster, and poor effort by the 'tallica boys. They really should just stick to touring and playing songs off the first 5 albums.

Or so you get the proper rip.

I liked the music, but the mastering is horrible.

Get the GH3 version. You can rip it off your disc, but there are other ways to get it.

Death Magnetic is fucking awesome if you get the GH3 mix, it's perfect.

There is a fact that cannot be refuted by logic or reason: Coldplay fucking sucks.

Yeah I downloaded the GH3 rip and it's a lot better, but I don't own the album, so I can't justify keeping the rip. I refuse to purchase Death Magnetic because I don't want producers to think it's OK to release an album that has such horrible fidelity. Not like it really matters, though, the album has sold very well and most people either don't notice or don't care. I've talked to quite a few people about the album, and their response to the criticisms when I brought it up was "what clipping?" 😛

I was kinda disappointed with Ayreon's "01011001."
It was an excellent album, but I had VERY VERY VERY high expectations (like almost Opethlike expectations) ....

I'd still give the album an 8 out of 10, but I was expecting a 10.

Bullet For My Valentine and All That Remains. All you people saying Metallica means you actually expected Death Magnetic to be decent. How could you have positive expectations after St. Anger?

Eh, mostly have more obscure music on this computer, but just perusing through some of it, I was disappointed in the albums by The Feeling, Roger J Manning, and Jim Boggia this year. Not as good as their last efforts. Jim Noir's latest I'm not sure about yet. Metallica put out one of the most mauled albums ever. It was supposedly a total mess *before* it got to mastering (great job Rick Rubin), and then they went with the modern industry standard and had every last dB of headroom squeezed out in mastering.

The new GnR is great. I had zero expectations. Thinking that this would be Appetite II is stupid. I'm not sure why so many reviewers seem pissed that it's not, other than they went in hell bent on hammering Axl. The guitar work and production are outstanding, Axl's voice sounds good, and the mastering is the biggest shock of all. I could listen to it multiple times on headphones without fatigue, which is why this thing grew on me like it did.

I'm really liking the new Nikka Costa too. If you like 70's Stevie Wonder, somebody put together a group of musicians for the recording sessions who really pull that vibe off very well, and she doesn't oversing every note like so many modern female singers that I find unlistenable.

I find it amusing when 20 year old kids tell a band that their old stuff was better. It's the trendy thing to say.

Even though they are popular to hate around here, I was disappointed in Nickelback's latest. I typically like their stuff pretty well.
