I always thought that Harry Chapin's "Cat's in the Cradle" was a depressing song. You can read the lyrics here: Link

I should also note that Bob Dylan wrote the song, "To Make You Feel My Love". It also debuted on his "Time Out of Mind" album, which went on to win the Album of the Year Grammy.

I refuse to vote, since the MOST depressing song is not on there, Gloomy Sunday (A.K.A the suicide song) :|

voted for lightning crashes

Good Charlotte - Hold On needs to be added to the list

and Last Kiss is by J. Frank Wilson - not pearl jam... the j.frank wilson version is even more depressing imo

Whoever put Floyd's 'Welcome to the Machine' is a tool. Wish You Were Here is a much better one to put down.

I LOVE that song, but I never found it particularly depressing. Not anymore than Lake of Fire or half the other songs on that album. :)

Holy poll batman. I voted for Brick by BFF because The Freshmen by Verve Pipe wasn't on the list.

Ok - I added Verve and Stabbing Westward.....Looks like Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" is the winner so far!

And a ton more submissions and listing!
