<< In aircraft, they were more or less even (my memory may fail me here though. Of course, Luftwaffe had superior equipment and training) >>

Germany had four times the airforce of Poland.

I stand corrected :). Like I said, I wasn't certain of the numbers when it comes to the airforce.

I thought it was Italy
First the Etrurians, then the Greeks. After that, Roman City state began dominating the whole Italian Peninsula,
In the Punic Wars (the second one) it was invaded by Hannibal,
Also invaded by Brennus of Gaul (not sure whether he was real).
mmm... After the fall of the Roman Empire in the west, several invasions by other tribes and finally became a kingdom of the Ostrogoths.
During the Gothic time mid 500's , it was invaded by armies of the Byzantine Empire in 535, 544, and 552.
Mid 1100's, king William I of Sicily (not directly an invasion, but still, he went against the papal estates)
holy Roman emperor Frederick I, aka Frederick Barbarossa, invaded Italy in 1157 (had a grudge against the pope) and 1174
In the 1500's
king Charles VIII of France (seized Naples)
king Louis XII of France (occupied Milan, Genoa, and Naples (again))
king François I of France (occupied Milan (again))
holy roman emperor Charles V, sacked Rome,
king François I of France besieged Naples (again)
in the late 1700's and begin 1800's by Napoleon

Russia never lost a war, although there were 3 attempts to conquer it, I believe.

They should have burned it to the ground.

<Russia never lost a war, although there were 3 attempts to conquer it, I believe.>

You might recall the Mongols...
The Golden Horde swept out of Asia, devoured the Russian Steepes, and conquered most of Eastern Europe before finally camping at Vienna's gates.

My vote for most conquered land area would have to be Palistine. The fighting there predates the Phoenicians, the Philistines of the Old Testament.

Carthage

Destroyed by the Roman empire and then the ground had salt plowed into it so nothing would be able to grow.
