Actually...I don't think we've lost a war yet...I can't remember the outcome of the Boer War though...

Russia was invaded/defeated by tatars and vorangians countless times, then the Huns, then Charles XII (I think) then Napoleon then Britain then Japan then Germany then the US/UK and Japan (and just about everybody else) then Germany and now China is encroaching. I think they win hands down.

France . . . ehh not so much. wwi, wwii, franco-prussian war (i think there were two of them), richard the black prince, henry V, another english dude, 30 years war (i think), Warterloo. Russia still wins.

Poland . . . wwii, wars of german unification . . . erm my history is lacking here . . . napoleon. It gets the record for consistent people without a country nod i think.

lol. you're right about that. I mean, how the hell do you lose a war to tiny Bangladesh which has no resources whatsoever and is filled with poor people.(I'm bangladeshi, so don't think I'm being racist here):D >>



Actually I think India has been invaded most. I think the reason Pakistan didn't give a damn about Bangladesh was that it wasn't near it's border so it would be difficult for it to maintain order across India so they didn't really care. I dont know how many people died in that "war" but it can't be more than what Pakistan and India lost in 1948.

Canada technically only sent troops to help Britain to fight the war, which Britain eventually won.

I'm surprised no one said China yet. China seemed to have lost every war its been in... Except for civil wars... From the Mongolians to the Japanese to Imperialism to the commie takeover...

it rock at the begining which kick everybody's a*s
but near the end of chin government time, where the queen take power (because empirer is 6years old) chin government has just lost about every god damn war there is to fought
even the revolution war :)
still can't believe the last chin queen, taking military fund to build garden. go figure. what does she expect to happen, defeating all invader with flower and peace.

Poland lasted longer than the Germans anticipated. They fought a two front war. England and France didn't help. They had a fraction of the army that Germany had. Poland fought well.

Actually, the size of the armies were pretty equal. The reason why germans won is because:

1. Tanks vs. cavalry? Who wins?
2. Superior strategy and tactics (Blitzkrieg)
3. Seamless co-operation between different military-branches (Luftwaffe & Heer)
4. Total air-superiority

You're right, that's exactly why Germany won so easily. But the cavalry charges against the tanks was propoganda put forth by Italy. It wasn't true. And the armies were certainly not equal. Germany had over 2500 tanks at the time. Poland had a fraction of this. They did have some decent AT though...

China had it rough the past 200 years or so, but back in the day, it could spank any empires out there. The Mongolians (Yuan Dynasty) followed the collapsed of the Song dynasty but they only ruled for about 80 years before they were sent packing and not heard from again.

I thought the Russians kicked Napoleon and Hitler's asses? The only blip on their record is their naval defeat to Japan in Port Arthur.

There were cases of polish cavalry charging german units. Unfortunately those units were often tank-units, so results were what you would expect.

Germany had more tanks, that's without question. But in number of men they were pretty equal. In aircraft, they were more or less even (my memory may fail me here though. Of course, Luftwaffe had superior equipment and training)
