were you dragged or towed?Originally posted by: apoppin
In the ocean . . . North Shore of Oahu . . . dragged outside Pipeline, past the third reef (1/2 mile or so off the beach) . . . in huge waves (30-40 feet top to bottom) without my board . . . swimming in alone . . .
EDIT: I have also had "fun" times swimming sharky breaks, been attacked by a p o'd seal, surfed the same tube with a pelican, and surfed right next to a whale (unknown to me until it breached) . . .
I hope you were in a boat and not trying to surf in those horrific conditions.Originally posted by: Instagib

Fell of a motorcycle at an estimated 179mph.....I was way too busy to be scared.....shook like a leaf shortly afterwards.
No sh*t, you don't sayTowed" implies holding a rope attached to a powered wavecraft . . . unfortunately, the rescue helicopter and jet ski was busy helping surfers at Waimea, so I had to swim in without any assistance . . .
More like surfed the boat ehh? I'll bet that experience makes your dad's friend feel like a wussyI was on a sailboat. I was 9. It was me, my dad and his friend. My Dad's friend was chuckin over the side while me and my Dad sailed the boat.

BTW, never surfed Hawaii, biggest I've surfed is Roca Bruja.

Hey, if I (a white teenager) can minister in the middle of Kenya and in the Tijuana Prision, you can do it in Brooklyn!![]()
lol yeah, I'm sure I can do it, but it's still a little frightening.I guess I might as well get used to it. We've got a trip to Brazil coming up at the end of the year. Same thing, kids in the worst areas you can imagine. But hey, He's got my back.

You said a mouthful brudda! Nothin' like gettin' held down for what seems like forever then break surface just in time to get drilled by the next wave and held under again. You can bet apoppin gets a high "pucker factor" just thinkin' about it.Originally posted by: im2smrt4u
I can understand the surfing stories! I haven't been in that bad of conditions, but I have been pulled under for a while while bodyboarding and it can be really scary!

LOL Clean-up sets always catch you insideEspecially when the waves you were surfing were 10-12 feet Hawaiian scale (20-25 feet top-to-bottom) and THEN a huge 10 wave Rogue set comes in that makes what you were just surfing seem really insignificant.
It is when you think you are at your surfiung limit and then the horizon goes dark with that incoming giant set . . .
Thanks for the idea! I have several "friends" I'd like to take thereOriginally posted by: LaBang
probably at the top a feather falls, CA. it is a 600 foot waterfall and you can stand at the very top of it an look down. The rocks are slick with water and it would be extreemly easy to slip to your death.
