Probably Karachi(Pakistan). We got kicked out of our flight and had to stay the night in Karachi. I was about 7yrs old and at the airport and hotel, everyone was walking around with a machine-gun. I was pretty scared....

In the ocean . . . North Shore of Oahu . . . dragged outside Pipeline, past the third reef (1/2 mile or so off the beach) . . . in huge waves (30-40 feet top to bottom) without my board . . . swimming in alone . . .

EDIT: I have also had "fun" times swimming sharky breaks, been attacked by a p o'd seal, surfed the same tube with a pelican, and surfed right next to a whale (unknown to me until it breached) . . .

The most dangerous situation I've been in is the high-speed chase through the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. The 12-pack I killed over the previous 5 hours certainly didn't help the situation any.

Edit: Pic

I hope you were in a boat and not trying to surf in those horrific conditions.

Well, I started out surfing at Pipeline's first reef and was dragged by the rip out to sea.
"Towed" implies holding a rope attached to a powered wavecraft . . . unfortunately, the rescue helicopter and jet ski was busy helping surfers at Waimea, so I had to swim in without any assistance . . .

No sh*t, you don't say ;) I was attempting to evaluate if you were full of crapola because if you were towed in, I was going ask why they didn't get you ;) BTW, never surfed Hawaii, biggest I've surfed is Roca Bruja.

My surfing tales are real and never need exaggeration (we are talking Winter Hawaiian Surf, ya know) . . . If you'd like to hear the whole story, I can relate it . . . this was the time I learned what my "physical limits" were . . . and I also learned to forecast the surf heights so as to never be caught by surprise like this again . . .

I can understand the surfing stories! I haven't been in that bad of conditions, but I have been pulled under for a while while bodyboarding and it can be really scary!

lol yeah, I'm sure I can do it, but it's still a little frightening. :) I guess I might as well get used to it. We've got a trip to Brazil coming up at the end of the year. Same thing, kids in the worst areas you can imagine. But hey, He's got my back. :)

You said a mouthful brudda! Nothin' like gettin' held down for what seems like forever then break surface just in time to get drilled by the next wave and held under again. You can bet apoppin gets a high "pucker factor" just thinkin' about it.

Especially when the waves you were surfing were 10-12 feet Hawaiian scale (20-25 feet top-to-bottom) and THEN a huge 10 wave Rogue set comes in that makes what you were just surfing seem really insignificant.
It is when you think you are at your surfing limit and then the horizon goes dark with that incoming giant set . . . :(

probably at the top a feather falls, CA. it is a 600 foot waterfall and you can stand at the very top of it an look down. The rocks are slick with water and it would be extreemly easy to slip to your death.
