Must be nice to be rich enough to print out spam nobody asked for/wants, and to have the time to hand it out to people that won't use it. It sure does sound like a great use of time and resources.
I just finished passing out the flyers and just like last time I did this, people were very appreciative for the flyers.

No one was like GET AWAY FROM ME, no one crumpled it up and threw it away, they all was reading the flyers with interest after I explained what it was.

Also the library near me let's you print 10 papers a day for free.

Those people are just being polite. Nobody wants a bullshit list that provides no useful information. This has all been gone over before. Prove me wrong. Welders are in demand. Get a welding job before the end of next week, and prove to me someone will hire you without experience. Should be easy.

You’re a buffoon who is throwing away money on useless shit.

You don’t need a respirator…if the job requires one, the company will provide one appropriate to the job at hand…and train you to properly use it.
The Dickies pants aren’t terrible, but for a laborer trying to get into the trades…used ones from a thrift store would make better sense.
That hard hat is stupid. You live in Los Angeles…a black hard hat will be hot…and the silly chin straps will just be in the way most of the time.
The gloves…not very good quality. They probably won’t last a week.
The knee pads…might be fine…IF you need them.

Only thing I differ with Boomer on is chinstraps rock. Regular hardhats are bullshit. It's alright if you're parked on a machine all day, but if you're moving, they don't stay in place.

Pretty sure Gizmo's trolling. The alternative isn't pretty. He was already told what was needed by people that have done this cumulatively for over century, and ignored every bit of it. Assuming he did buy that crap, he'll have a bunch of useless shit laying around for the rest of his life, and still no job.

The respirator only cost $15, the hard hat was $10.

If you’re depending on SSI for your income, that $25 ain’t nothin…and if the job REQUIRES a respirator, you won’t be allowed to use your own personal unit.

Chin straps are fine ( sort of) if you’re working bent over all day…like a rod buster, but a shovel monkey shouldn’t need them…and they’ll be in the way.

An amazon review of the hard hat...

Inaccurate label

The hat is advertised as Class C but labeled as Class E. The hat I ordered and received is vented. My understanding is that no Class E hard hats are supposed to be vented. This causes me to doubt the entire certification of the hat.Otherwise sturdy appearing material and super comfortable.

I read the description, and they listed uses inappropriate for a class C helmet, and they ship a class C(if you can believe them) helmet listed as class E. If you're gonna wear something inherently uncomfortable, you should at least be able to trust that it works. I paid $100 for my helmet, and that's only the higher end of mid priced. I wouldn't consider anything that wasn't US or Europe made.

Should I cancel the order of the hard hat and get this yellow one?

Another thing, I was planning on just buying goggles, but the respirator came with goggles and it was only like $8 more than just the goggles.

I remember being able to change your order on Amazon after you spend $35+ and still get free shipping, looks like they got rid of that.

If I try to buy the yellow hard hat and cancel the black one I'll have to pay full shipping, so I think I won't.

IMO, cargo pants are worthless. Just get decent, inexpensive blue jeans. I wore Costco Kirkland jeans for many, many years...and still do. $13.99/pair. Looks like they went up...$19.99/pair. Still a great value for inexpensive blue jeans.
Knee pads...depends on what kind of construction you end up doing.
Gloves...yes. Again, what kind will depend on what you do.
Hammer...sure. Probably a framing-type of hammer...and since you're inexperienced, something like a steel Estwing so you aren't always breaking the handle.
Drill...nope. Company should provide the necessary power tools for a laborer.
Helmet? Hardhat? Probably. MOST companies will furnish them, but it never hurts to have your own.
Wrench...What kind? Crescent wrench? Probably a good idea. 10" at the minimum, but 12" might be better.
Goggles...Maybe...and/or good safety glasses. Again, MOST companies will furnish those...but having your own is a good idea.
Respirator...nope. That's something the company should provide if needed...even dust masks.
Tape measure...Yes. 25-30 foot, NOT a cheap-o...Stanley is decent...their "Fat Max" is better.

You've said yourself that getting goggles is a good idea, and as I've said before:I was planning on just buying goggles, but the respirator came with goggles and it was only like $8 more than just the goggles.

Hmm...read my entire conment. MIGHT the goggles come in handy? Sure...but once again, it's the company's responsibility to provide ALL PPE. (Personal Protective Equipment) The only thing on your current list that would be an employee's responsibility to provide is the gloves and knee pads.
As for the list of tools...Hammer, nail bar, tape rule crescent-type wrench...12", good utility knife, maybe some screwdrivers...or even a 4 in 1 screwdriver.
