So I ordered something from the interweb, and this is how it came.

First their was box 1, inside box 1 was a sheet of paper with my order info and some popcorn packaging and ANOTHER box. Inside Box 2 was MORE popcorn packaging and guess what ANOTHER box. Finally inside box 3 was my item.

Really Box 1 is atleast 4 times the volume of box 3. What the fuck kind of packaging is this. I hope they didn't charge my more for this strange shipping method.

No, but I don't see the need to multiple boxes with in each other.

so would you estimate that you are more pissed off now about the packaging than you would be if the fragile item you bought showed up broken?

I don't get how box 1 is inside of box 1. Retard speak?

EDIT:
Ha, I know EXACTLY what you bought. It is 9" long and vibrates, right?

Doubt it. Its probably full of sand.

So 3 boxes for 1 item is going to protect it more.

I still think it was a waste of money. I was charged almost 35 dollars for shipping. Seems like it could have been cheaper if they used 1 box.

So, you wouldn't be bitching about shipping cost if they'd sent it in a single box, that would've made it better? Also, it might seem like a waste to you, but depending on the cost of the item, the little bit extra (if any extra at all) cost of the extra boxes likely helps lower their returns/replacements which saves them money and thus allows them to sell you the product at a lower cost.

What is funny is when you order a stick of ram and it comes in a 12x16x24 box, and inside that box is a 1x3x5 box with the ram in it.

you are both cheap and an idiot
in the end paying for 1 box shipping 3 times because the item breaks everytime will cost you the same, and cost the company triple.

Yup, when my guitar arrived through UPS it came in a huge box, with like 5 boxes on the sides of the actual box that had the guitar, and tons of bubble paper, just to make sure it didnt move alot... Best part is the shipping was free :D

I've seen it done also for expensive items. Friend ordered $2500 diamond and it came enclosed in four layers of boxes.
