Most badass actor of all time?

Some of the best movies are the westerns and action films in which the main character is so badass, that it seems hard to believe there is any more badass left to go around to the rest of us. I recently watched Major Dundee and realized that maybe Clint Eastwood isn't the most badass of all film, it very well could be Charlton Heston.

I'll add answers if I forgot someone

EDIT: I just read that Marlon Brandon was "Kicked out of high school for riding a motorcycle through the halls." so I'll add him to the list

Steve Mcqueen is not a badass, look at his name for god's sake. I'll add John Wayne, he was badass enough that he didn't even need to act in any of his movies. He was just John Wayne reading the lines

My vote's for Clint. I consider this poll to be for the characters portrayed in movies, and the acting job done to portray them, and IMHO, Clint just nails that type of role to the wall. However, I'd consider Jack a bit ahead in the running for just general badass in real life. Gotta love his behavior at the Lakers games! He's also just so damn cool and suave.

I think in all his movies he never gets hits or hurt. Doesn't that make him a badass?
Note: I don't like his movies! nobody is THAT good in fighting.

Yes I did mean for this to be a poll for the characters portrayed in movies, not the personal lives of the actors

Added Steven Seagal and Bruce Lee.. forgot about martial arts, and Bruce Lee is definately a badass.

I should've voted for Heston.. the man deserves at least one vote.

Eastwood, I like all his movies with the exception of The Bridges of Madison County, but I never watched it all, just wasn't my type

Bruce Willis is one I consider pretty badass, but the biggest badass actor of all time is Samuel L. Jackson.

might as well add Tom Cruise, he is very underrated, but has actually done a lot of really good movies, maybe a bit too early to say "of all time"

It's sort of like naming Mr. T as the badass actor of all time..

I think it's tough to beat The Terminator as all-time badass.

I don't know.. he is more of the Tom Hanks type of actor. I'm not asking for a good actor, more like one whose presence on the screen is enough to let you know he is the one running the show.
