Randy Moss is fined $10,000 and Eric Barton is fined $7,500. Let me get this straight NFL: pretending to moon the fans at a park that is known for mooning the visiting team each week is a worse act than hitting a defenseless player in the head with a forearm????:roll:

Eric Barton fine

Randy Moss fine

Anyone want to add anything?

So how is Randy's move any worse than other showboat act? Randy should appeal it!!

i think thats whack. moss shouldnt get a fine, thats just stupid. i can understand bartons fine, it was malicious, but thats retarded to make it less than moss's fine.

moss got fined because it was the all mighty packers he mooned, and i doubt barton would have been fined if the arm was thrown on a lineman.

Barton should have been fined higher.

Agreed. And Barton should have been fined higher for his stupidity alone in almost costing his team the game

I don't see how he could've thrown a forearm like that to a linemen. A lineman wouldn't have left himself exposed like that and would've had sustained contact with Barton instead of Barton having a running start and clocking a defenseless QB. Unsportmsanlike conduct is an automatic fine in the NFL.

Barton's should have been much higher. Moss deserved his fine. I'm not concerned with kids seeing an image of Moss faking a ba move, as Fox runs a hundred times worse than that. I think he should be fined because it's nothing more then showboating and being unsportsman like. Alot of the reason I hate football anymore is because it's a bunch of neanderthal jackasses doing their egotistical dances in the endzone. Play the game as a team and leave your desires of being a dancer at home.

wow, that is pretty retarded. although i don't think the moss fine was because of the gesture itself, but more because he was taunting the fans & being a sore winner. he was taunting the fans the whole game.

You can't have some fun after a TD, but you can physically end someone's career w/ a sack, hit, tackle. Nice job NFL, nice.

Yeah, but Vikings v. Packers? That's a great rivalry, and I'm sure he gets taunted plenty by the fans every time he's there. He just gave them some of their own medicine

I don't think either should have been fined. Barton did something stupid, but that's why the players wear pads and helmets. You're gonna get hit in the game; roughness is half of the appeal. Had it been a harder, injury causing hit, then yes, impose a fine equivlent to the team's medical costs.

Moss was a real asshat, but the problem could be solved by removing the crybabies from the game.

However, I see the other side of the spectrums, too. That's just my opinion.

Exactly!!! The Packer fans actually do moon the opposing teams bus as they arrive before a game. What Randy did was just payback.

One of the Eagles players put it best, IMO - if you don't want Moss to do that kind of stuff, just don't let him score :)

I see what you're saying, but you get into problems there. You want to prevent people from injuring someone and if you wait until it happens you run the risk of getting someone seriously hurt. So fining dangerous plays, such as Bartons hit, is the only way to try to prevent someone from getting really hurt.

Ding ding we have a winnAR. Yelling "17-NOTHING MUTHERF^#%$#S!" to the GB fans and pointing at the scoreboard with 5:00 left in the 1st Quarter probably had something to do with it. Moss is a classless baby, I'm glad that the NFL agrees. Like they said on ESPN.com, you give any pubescent juv delinquent a 17 mil signing bonus, and they'll do whatever they want... that is the root of these selfish prima donnas (Ricky Williams how YOU doin'?); the sooner the NFL and owners put an end to the signing bonus abuse, the better.

Both fines were appropriate, stop your whining people.

Huge difference there friend. Fans are not expected to act classy, but the players should represent their team and their fellow teammates with pride, not a bunch of egotistical unclassy bs. I'm sorry but sports are going to really decline the longer society lets these spoiled rich little nimrods to do anything they like because they can catch a goddamn football.

So please tell me how this was any different from when Terrill Owens started stomping on the Dallas star? Did he get fined?

The best was when Minny's owner called for Joe Buck to be fired for calling Moss's celebration disgusting and classless. More morons riding the Waaahmbulance! Hey, the truth hurts!

Yes, he was fined and had his clock rearranged.

"After both of his touchdowns in the 41-24 victory Sunday, Owens sprinted to midfield and celebrated on the Cowboys' star logo. Mariucci said he spoke to the league office about his decision to suspend and fine Owens $24,294, and didn't know whether the league planned to level its own fine or suspension as well. ``This decision is based on how we intend to conduct ourselves,'' Mariucci said. ``It disturbs me when the integrity of the game is compromised in any way, shape or form.'' The second time Owens celebrated, Dallas safety George Teague followed him and leveled him at midfield."

Ok, if they fined Owens, then the Moss fine is just.
