Can hear all. 18 khz is soft, but still clear. Ouch, my ears hurt from the other frequencies (accidentally played 2 at one time).

I top out at 16khz, no difficulty ... though I've got a refrigerator and heater on in the background.

If it was totally silent maybe I could do 17khz. who knows.

But IT'S PROBABLY MY CHEAP PUNY DELL SPEAKERS here on the work computer. Have to try at home with my Swan M200s.

15 easily. 16 maybe if I wasn't at work. too much background noise. but for right now, I can't hear 16k. anything above that and I don't have a shot. I work in a noisy environment and am required to get yearly hearing tests. They tell me I have slight hearing loss, but I'm within the acceptable range.

>> It was the speakers. I can detect 18khz. Pretty quiet though.

I can hear all of them, but several of them sound are too loud and lower in tone than could possibly be intended. I think there's something wrong with my playback.

I can hear clearly up to 16. 17 and 18 is more that I can tell when it's playing versus when it's not. I'm 32.

Infinity Primus 152s
Onkyo HT-R340
Audigy 2 Gold

18KHz plays fine and very audibly. Guess my hearing is still half-decent.

wearing headphones and 17. Can only hear upto 15. 16 is quiet cept for the tiny noise at the start.

edit: can hear 16 ring in my head with the noise up but that's about it.

Epic fail?

They're all 5-second long .mp3 files

An MP3 encoder won't leave much usable shit at high frequencies. I can hear all of them, clearly, with Z-5500 + X-Fi running DTS Live.

EDIT: I should add that CCFL lightbulbs drive me absolutely insane. My HP LP2275w emits a crazy whine from either the inverter or the CCFL itself, and I can hear any CCFL bulbs in my room.

I hope it's just my crappy Acer lappy, because I can't hear 12 or 16, but for some reason 17 is the loudest of them all. 18 I can just barely hear. Anyway, I'm old.
