Mosin Nagant "scout" rifle -- finished my project!

I started sighting it in yesterday, and it's on paper! Starting to dial it in, but I'm getting 3" 10-shot groups at 50 yards! 🙂

Thats quite a work over. Did you do the barrel yourself? If so you may want to send it in and get it recrowned.

I did the barrel myself, and I re-crowned it myself -- 11-degree target crown.

No lathe, I just have a hand-held crowning tool. It has a brass pilot shaft that you insert into the barrel -- I have a slew of different diameter pilots.

Basically you just stick it in the muzzle and while giving it some pressure, you turn it -- it has cutting blades that shave the steel away.

I have one in .44 Magnum. Surprisingly, that sucker kicks like a mule! :shocked:

I put a better shoulder pad on it just so I could shoot it without flinching.
