Around 18 mortars hit a U.S.-run prison in Baghdad, killing more than 21 detainees, said Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt today. He could not say whether the victims had been detained for criminal activity or involvement in the anti-U.S. insurgency.

I wonder how they'll spin it to blame it on us?

Here's how: the US caused the violence in the Iraq.

While you're pointing out military mistakes maybe you could point out the time the US bombed an Afghan wedding ( by accident), shot down a Korean jetliner (woops), killed 10,000 civilians during its liberation (precision bombing?), and engaged in warcrimes in Vietnam (slaughter vietnamese villagers anyone?).

That was an Iranian jetliner. It was the Soviets who shot down a Koren jetliner.

Wasn't the Russians that shot down a Korean jetliner? Fuzzy memory.

If you want to talk about warcrimes and slaughtering vietnamese villagers, you should talk to many of my vietnamese friends who have relatives and grandparents who were killed by the Viet Cong. Killed so that the other villagers would not resist them. Killed to set an example. Villages caught giving aid to US troops were "taken care of" in the middle of the night after the US soldiers left. Or how bout those Vietnamese who's only fault were that they were successful businessmen? Killed because Communist think they're corrupt people?

I'm not saying the Viet Cong were nice. (except I'll note that it's predictable your Vietnamese friends would say they were persecuted because they were "good businessmen." Who's going to admit their ancestors were corrupt and hated by their community? That's right, not the kids of those corrupt ancestors).

Anyway, as someone mentioned, we shot down an Iranian jetliner. Thanks for the correction.

The simple fact is the US makes tons of military mistakes. If you are going to hold it against the Iraqis, hold it against the US too.
