Mortal Kombat: Deception

It comes out in 2 weeks, has several neat little extras that really intrigue me (like Puzzle Kombat and Kombat Chess), the last MK was finally a step in the right direction, and this one's even richer. Plus it's got an exact duplicate of the original arcade version of MK.

Then again, it's still just another fighting game, and I tire of them quickly after I play a lot then suck it up. Anyone interested in it?

I'm kinda i the same boat as you, Mo. I use to be a big big fan on fighting games with MKII (in the arcade)and the original Soul Calibur for the DC. But when SCIII came out, I got bored the first day. Its jsut not my thing. Hell, I even tried the new MK 2 years ago. It was fun for a week, but again, I tired of it and realized I am not into these games anymore. If you got some buddies you can hang out with and play, its pretty cool. But otherwise, its lacking IMHO. So, I will not be getting you. Are you leaning more towards getting it, or not getting it?

I'm kinda leaning towards not getting it currently, maybe if it was cheaper. My dilemma is the Puzzle Kombat game is supposed to be a clone of Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo (one of my favorite games of all time), also, the Kombat Chess is a new take on Battle Chess. Will they be perfect? Nah. Maybe when it's in the bargain bin I'll snag it.

OMG Batlechess! I loved that game! Sounds like a cool idea for a MK bonus feature. :thumbsup:

BTW, did anyone ever make a revision or a new battlechess type of game?

The fighting was a lot better in the last MK (Deadly Alliance) and I contemplated picking it up but never did. I may have to grab this one. Too bad it's not a discount title or I'd definatley get it right away.

I never had a problem with the fighting style. The AI was a piece of crap in every MK game. At some point it just begins cheating... literally. It looks like the same is true of this game. Still, the mini games look like fun.

Welp, if nothing else the online play will help it tremendously so you dont have to deal with the AI aspect. But I definately hear what you're talking about.

I'll definitely be picking this one up tomorrow. Actually, I'll be getting the Kollector's Edition.

It's going to be hard to run out of things to do here. Kombat Chess, Puzzle Kombat, a 30-hour Konquest mode, 24 playable characters, almost 50 fatalities, 700 unlockables, and online play is awesome.

If blockbuster has the Kollector's edition, I'll probably get that (I've got all sorts of credit left there )
