Yeah, I know it has been around for some time, but when I first attempted to play 6 years ago I didn't "get" Morrowind. My RPG experience was greatly shaped by first tabletop pencil and paper D&D and then PC games such as Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.
Basically I gave up the game when I almost finished the Fighter's Guild Quests (I started out with the Fighter's Guild and stayed with it, so you know how little I actually experienced) . Of course in my game play I went here, there, and everywhere on my journey with really no rhyme or reason. I didn't even get a tenth into the main story line.
Now I want to reinstall both the main game along with both expansions and try again (and my rig is so much more up to the task). I have heard there are great community texture packs and mods that make the game play more enjoyable. There are tons to choose from so it is quite daunting to pick which are the ones to install and what one's to avoid. One thing I didn't like about the original look was the depressing, drab color scheme. So I'd appreciate hearing from you recommendations for...
1. Texture packs for improved graphics, terrain, etc.
2. Merchants that actually have enough gold to buy high end items and replenish their gold stocks in a reasonable time frame.
3. Anything else you can think of.
* If it helps I'll be playing a combination of fighter/mage with magic as supporting, etc.
Thanks!
