Morrowind Question

I have been playing morrowind for a while now and I need to figure something out. When you go into the crypts and you find the dead people encased in some sorta crystal, ice, or force field, what tools do you need to get them out and were can I get them.

In my 60 hours of playing Morrowind, I have never come across a mission (that I recall) which required this. Is this a mission or curiousity?

www.GameFaq.com -- I don't recall seeing that either, but I haven't finished the game.

I don't recall what tool exactly you need, but you get it eventually in the normal course of the game. You get them fairly close to the end, I believe...don't remember exactly when. You get pieces and have people make armor or weapons with them.

For everyone else, this is in the most recent expansion for Morrowind, Bloodmoon.
