Morrowind - PC - how use sneak mode

Don't laugh, but how do you enable sneak mode?

I know the sneak key, but is there a mode so that you "always sneak" like the "always run" key?

You move too slowly when sneaking to to make an "always sneak" key practical. Just hold the sneak key down.

I believe I played through the game without ever sneaking...except to show someone what sneak mode looked like...it's very much like Christopher Walken's dancing in that one video I forget the name of right now.

Sneaking is cool, if your level is high enough you can walk past a guard right under his nose!

Anyway if you want to always sneak do like what I do - find a sturdy object (small spoon, toothpick, straw, etc.) and jam it down the Ctrl button. If you're in trouble just quickly pull it out again and run like heck!

ok do this: jam your ctrl key like Mr.Tung sez.. and leave it for a couple of hours...
You'll get max proficiency of 100 when you returned

for me, i enchant these : 24 constant effect sanctuary and 15% constant chameleon, now my enemies can't see me when i'm sneaking(if i press sneak in the middle of a fight, they would run away)

Hmmm, I tried the "sneak cheat" to raise my stats......no go.

I'm runnign the latest patch, maybe they fixed it?


I used a pencil and coffee mug to hold down my sneak key, and kept walking into a corner. My sneak Icon was on also.


After 4 hours, my skill didn't budge.

Suggestions? locations to setup sneak boost?

One popular advice on the Morrowind forums is to find a harmless critter (like one of those floating Netch creatures) and follow it around from behind. This should help raise your sneak skill.

Anyway, personally I wouldn't advise on just concentrating on one skill. You won't get good returns in terms of your attribute points. The best that you can get if you totally concentrate on one skill is a X2 or X3 on one attribute. If you concentrate on raising 3 different skills you can get better multipliers which are better IMO in the long run.

why not just use the gold cheat and train out the yingyang =)
get some stat and level bonuses too why ur at it =)
