This gameis going to be amazing. Character creation is very unique- and the graphics are stellar. Looks awesome on my system.

Only played for a little bit- but this is gonna be great!

<< FedEx just dropped it off at my doorstep!!!!!!!!!!! >>

Ah, you lucky prick. :p

How does the game run on your computer? Can you max out the graphics settings or is it unplayable at that point? Have you seen any bugs yet (remembering Daggerfall's Achilles heel...)?

It ran just fine at highest resolution maxed out. I did have to turn down my Anti Aliasing a bit w/ GeForce Tweak Utility but other than that, it looks AWESOME. Runs great too!

I'm going to be smart and wait until AFTER finals to pick it up. Otherwise I wouldn't get much studying done. So that means I'll have it in about 3 weeks.

I went ahead and picked it up today! Only got to play an 1.5 hours before I had to leave for work.
Now crashes or bugs so far and it runs good on my computer. It seems pretty tough at the start or maybe I was trying to do too much too quickly. 8 hours till I get home.:|

seems pretty tough in the beginning????!!?!?! What the hell were you doing? The first like 2 hours for me is walking aorund talking to people deciding who I want to team up with and what kind of character I'm gonna be. The only time I ran into trouble was when I took something that wasn't mine :)

Otherwise, the game is running BEAUTIFULLY on my system at full graphics.

What do you mean decide "what kind of character I'm gonna be"? Is there some type of character creation like Baldur's Gate, or do you pick what you are during the game?

There are three ways to make a character: 1) pick from a premade list of 21 classes, 2) design your own custom class, or 3) answer a series of moral questions (Ultima-style) from which the game will extrapolate a class for you

Morrowind character creation

Wow, that sounds cool. I really must stop reading stuff about this game. I REALLY want to buy it, but with finals coming up in about two weeks, I would be screwed if I did. Must........resist.........temptation.........slowly losing to........desire to play.........................

OK I take it back. Its hard now. I hadn't actually done any "quests" and now I have and I can't beat my first guy. But as far as the character generation, I started out with a Dark Elf, Spellsword character and after talking in game to ppl I decided to become an asassin but when I was going through the character class stuff I decided to create my own class. A kind of cross between Agent and Assasin. The class name I gave it was Dark Agent (instead of Ass Kicker class) so now I'm a Dark Elf, Dark Agent :) But yeah I take it back about easy....

It still looks beautiful :)

Just got the collectors edition....:)

Ive played for 3 hours and nothing has happend:(...This game is slllooowwww.....The charector movment is slugish....Thier is way to many names and crap to keep tarck of. The stores menus are too small...(I can barely see the item Im trying to buy).

Ive bought the game with no expectations...I havent read alot about it...but I decided to pick it up to try and get into RPGs....so far Im not too impressed. I do plan to give it alot more of my time though and see if I can start to become atracted to it. Im not much of an RPG person,I liked Dungeon Siege...but Balders Gate lamed me. Anyway ..We'll see...just thought Id post my first impression!

Hmm... I can't stand Dungeon Siege... I think this is what I should have gotten in the first place!

btw, how will it run on a TNT2 Ultra?

yeah... you've got to give some concentration into this game... its not at all like dungeon siege where you sit down for 30min or an hour and expect to get some fun. You've got to take sessions and the thing that gets me everytime about awesome RPGs is the amount of Detail and reading that you need to do to fully enjoy the game. There is SOOOOO much reading and information to find and look into. Just give it time and concentration and I think you'll like it.

I found Dungeon Siege played it self!!! Follow the darn road to the end of the game! When you see monsters, click and your party will do everything, including auto heal!

<< I decided to pick it up to try and get into RPGs >>

Whoa, I don't know if this is the game to buy for someone just getting into RPGs. It is about as complex a gaming experience as you will find. OTOH if you do manage to get the hang of it other games will be child's play in comparison. Hope it works out for you.

<< how will it run on a TNT2 Ultra? >>

I'm not sure but I think that may be pushing it. The TNT2 *is* on Bethesda's list of supported chipsets for the game, but the minimum specs are a GeForce2. I don't remember how much faster the GeForce2 is than the TNT2 Ultra so you will have make your own guestimation from that. If you have a fast processor and turn the settings down maybe it will run decently.

I got a PIII @1050, but I am saving my money for the IWILL DVD266 for the two PIII866s that I have :(.

It's probably better that I do not get into any new games right now... I still need to play System Shock 2 :)

Wow, this sounds like the game for me. I loved Baldur's Gate I and II, but I also loved the extremely story driven Planescape: Torment. Torment didn't have a ton of action, but it sucked you in with the story and the depth of the world, this game sounds even better.

Ah, words cannot describe how much I love PST...IMHO it is easily the best of Black Isle's outstanding line of RPGs. I defy anyone to point out a game with a better storyline *ever*. It's better than 99% of movies and even many books.

Torment fans may be interested to know that there is new hope for some sort of a sequel (or at least a new game set in the Planescape multiverse). I thought for sure that it would never happen, given the way TSR shafted the Planescape campaign, but check out the following quote from a recent interview with Black Isle's chief Feargus Urquhart:

<< GS: Can you tell me about your next game? You know, Planescape Torment 2. Don't be coy!

Feargus: The funny thing is as time goes on I think more and more about us making a Torment 2. I don't know if it will ever actually be in the cards, but the game did better commercially than a lot of people think.

I have the same problem...piles of older games lying around that I am way behind schedule in playing. In fact I just got around to SS2 myself last month. My plan is to tackle BG2: Throne of Bhaal first and hopefully Morrowind will have dropped ~$10 in price by the time I'm done.
