<< this thang dont not no work right left...crap layout too >>

Do you know how to speak English? That's like a double double negative, which doesn't even exist. And it's a preview edition - I'm sure they whipped the "layout" up in 1~2 days.

<< Looks gross but I will take it. I refuse to download Kazaa. I just heard on TechTV they are trying to lure the Morpheus user base over to them. >>

They sure are! At kazaa.com, it says [pretty big, on the middle-top of the main page] "Morpheus users.. come on over to our place... you'll feel quite at home." :disgust:

I'm definitely not switching to Kazaa. I've already tried Bearshare and it didn't work for me at all.. I guess I'm going to check out Xolox and Grokster. :frown:

after you double click the node, close Morpheus, then restart it...that should let you connect....

For those of you still seeing the old interface, you are not loading the preview version....go into your Morpheus folder and select the new exe file!

The multiple searches feature is really nice

my dowload speeds are fine....

<< can someone recommend the best Linux file sharing program ? I assume there is no linux spyware problem... >>

if you are willing to use gnutella, i use gtk-gnutella and it works pretty good.

i use audiogalaxy for music though, it is very nice.

amazing, its working now..

so what does the "filter results" checkbox do? and how do I go about searching for only movie files or only music files ?

what he said

Doesn't work for me. I'm using the WinMX 3 beta 5, and it seems to work great...not that many files but at least I can find something useful.

i downloaded morpheus, and i can't seem to use the scroll bar, when i have more than 50 files qued in the download section?

I think this might be a bug. Anyone else experience the same bug?

<< I finally got it to work by going under "file" and then selecting "load nodes". Then double click on "GnuCache". >>

my new hero 🙂

KaZaA and Grokster do indeed share networks. They look and work essentially the same as Morpheus. I seem to be able to get my old Morpheus to connect, though. If you can't, I would definitely suggest Grokster over KazaA. I think Grokster also contains spyware maybe, but it can be easiily removed with AdAware. If you remove Kazaa's spyware via adaware, kazaa will not work and you will have to reinstall, spyware and all. That has always been my experience, anyway.

Finally got Kazaa working w/o ads. I couldn't get it to work by removing files via Adaware then adding dummy files; rather I just used the dummy files.
I've tried so many various ways that I can't really say why it finally works right, but it does.
I would recommend installing the dummy files first, then install Kazaa and see what happens.

( I haven't seen ONE ad yet--including start page, and believe me, Kazaa is an ad-whore!)

I'm sorry, but I don't care if this is a preview edition; it still sucks. Music City should be doing what it's done before, and just upgrade Morpheus 1.x to the new code base. Gnutella is simply too bloated/unorganized to run a good file sharing network; something that FastTrack accels at. Even when you don't look at the network, Morpheus still has problems. Who designed the GUI? A 12 year old? I realize MusicCity licenced the FastTrack client(complete with GUI); but still, considering most of their code for MPE comes from open-source Gnutella clients, you'd think they'd at least try to use some of the time to emulate the 1.x GUI. Oh, and for anyone looking for files, you'll have to sort them yourself. MPE doesn't divide up files by audio, video, ect; you get everything with a matching name in the same results.

Until the day FastTrack dies, or Gnutella becomes like FastTrack(complete with the super-node structure), I have no intention of using MPE. The action will continue to be at Grokster/Kazza, not Gnutella.

PS Is it me, or does the GUI of every Gnutella client suck? I mean there are some better than others, but they all seem to be second-class GUIs compared to things like WinMX, Scour, Napster, and FastTrack
