Recently sold a few items and had this disclaimer in the shipping information:
Payment accepted through Paypal or money order. Paypal will only be accepted if the account includes a verified address and I will only ship to that verified address. If you plan to use a credit card with PayPal you must contact me prior to making paymet.
Two people decide to make CC payments to my Personal Account which I will not upgrade. Denied both payments and sent them an email explaining the situation. One bidder quickly makes CC payment to my Premier account as outlined in my email.

The other decides to ignore my email and makes yet another CC payment to my Personal Account.

When you setup the auction did you check the box that says you accept Paypal? Make sure to not check that button - and the little Paypal button won't appear in your auction. You can stll accept Paypal for the auction (with your restrictions) but state that in the text with your restrictions. If you check the box saying you accept Paypal (and get the icon in your listing) then you are not allowed to restrict how people can pay for your auctions (per eBay and Paypal's policy).

I do accept paypal that is why it was selected. It is not really restricting them when I provide a valid paypal account to use.

What about dumbsh1t sellers.

Example 1: Scum car dealer trying to say that a 1988 Ford bronco they are selling only has 3600 miles. Hmm, think that could actually be 103k or 203k.

D'oh! I misread it - thinking that you didn't want to accept credit card payments (as some folks only want to accept bank-drawn Paypal funds to avoid the fees).

even though they mis-read, if you sell frequently, I would just bite the bullet and upgrade to premier. Your time and hassle is worth more than the fee they charge (even though it sucks).

I already have a Premier account. But I tie my personal account to my auctions for those that pay with paypal funds.

If you already have a premier account, why do you not want to accept CC's? you get charged the same fee either way, why limit your customers from giving you money???

Did you read my original post at all?

I have two accounts, a premier account and a personal account. Paypal goes directly into my Personal account, but if need be I can take CC payments at my Premier account. This is why I sent both sellers an email stating that they need to send CC payments to my premier account.

Yeah, you'll get your PayPal acct locked because you keep refusing payments and the fool complained.

LoL!

I tried the two account thing and it was just too much of a PITA. So I killed the personal one and keep the Premiere one. The small percentage that is charged is a small price to pay to keep from having to explain things to Intarwebd00ds. ;)

save yourself the hassle and just upgrade your pp account. Or point ebay directly to it (sounds like you have 2). Dealing with all the kinds of illiterate users out there is not worth the time and frustration. I tried... and I just ended up upgrading. If you're not selling extremely high priced items, who cares about the 2.9% ?

I wouldn't say they're trying to mislead you, that's the actual odometer reading. You'd have to be an idiot to not realize it's either 103k or 203k, perhaps the reason the dealer did not list the actual milage is because they don't know what it is.

That brake pedal is seriously worn. Odo has rolled over at least once.
