First off, confirmation is free if you print the label out online (could still buy the postage at the post office). Secondly, I'm sorry, I thought the package was going to ship itself, otherwise I would have taken into consideration that you have to physically take it there. Also, maybe you should have included a gas quote in your price as well. Finally, it seems as though your used to ripping off the morons on ebay with shipping, which is exactly where you belong. - My response

/Puts virtueixi on Do Not Trade list.

Since I don't overcharge shipping? I don't understand.

Heh, didn't even occur to me that this might not be an eBay transaction...

It's not.

so what...

God, people like you are what helps to make eBay a sh!tty place sometimes.
:p Sorry, didn't mean to be so harsh.. But I hate it when people bitch about shipping because it's more than the actual postage.

In his opinion, the time it takes to deal with your package is worth 4$. If you don't like that price, you're free to shop elsewhere.

If this was eBay, you would be paying 18$ for shipping.. ;) lol

:)

No, since you act like a sarcastic jackass to the people you're trading with.

Yeah they are for the USPS boxes that look about the size of a motherboard box.
The boxes that look like they could hold a couple dvd cases are the $3.85

I was getting a shipping quote when he turns around and starts getting all defensive. What else was I supposed to say?

EDIT: and look at you calling people jackasses.....

Memory module and a laptop keyboard.

I dont know how much it weighs, probably couple puonds for the keyboard
if he put it in a flat rate box, it will cost $8

If he sent it in a regualr box based on weight and distance it might be cheaper
if you live close to hime and its like 1 pound

A keyboard is not going to fit in the $4 flate rate envelope

Anyways, the most you could save is like $4 so why are you bitching about it?

Was the shipping cost on the auction?

I misunderstood what you bought, I edited my post

His shipping quote is most likely accurate on a keyboard

How is he going to fit a keyboard in a DVD box.

The box he needs is $8 flat rate

If it says $8 for shipping on the auction page, by bidding, you agreed to it.

I've ordered a couple hockey cards that I've paid $5 shipping on, only to have them shipped in a padded envelope with $.55 shipping or something.

Nice guy.

I never claimed to be a "nice guy" towards the average ATOT moron posting about how his high school teachers are mad at him. But, if I'm involved in a business transaction with someone, I'm curtoues and polite.

Just shipped a UPS package today (ground) less than one pound and it cost $8.00 (through UPS direct) on the same coast. If you don't like the price don't bid on his auction. Don't bid and then moan...I can't stand buyers like that.

Flat rate envelope + good packaging. This particular keyboard is much smaller than a desktop keyboard. Plus it's pretty obvious from his response that he was going to use the $3.85 flat rate.

1) I did not bid, he contacted me through PM on other forum.
2) I will not buy the items because of the shipping.

If it's not an auction, then you aren't obigated to buy it
since its from forums you haven't agreed on a total price

so just don't buy it ... problem solved

gas and time aren't really factors since USPS will pickup priority mail boxes at your door. but it sounds like shipping would reasonably be in the $8-10 range.

Never said he would fit it

Just stating the price on the USPS priority box sizes.
That does sound about right for priority mail virtueixi. If the seller is properly packaging it then of course its going to be a little bit bigger of a box.
