How is it any different than people who sit their parrots on the rear view mirror for a ride?

I've seen this plenty of times over the years. There was a guy in my area with a Toucan that drove his bird around all the time during the summer. No one ever freaked out about it.

what's with the news reporter saying that it was a terrifying ride? How could she possibly know? What if the parrot enjoys it?

Do you mean the rear view mirror, which is inside your car, or did you mean the side view mirror, which is outside your car?
