More Wiis in stock Dec 17th @ BB

I've heaqrd this to be true...and when I went to BB this week and asked if they had any Wii's, 2 different emplyees told me Dec. 17th come back....We will have Wii's that day. Hmmmm....sounds like there sand bagging to me.

maybe they want to give people who actually want them a better chance, instead of selling them all to ebay resellers.

i work at BB a couple days a week. from what ive heard - at least at my store - employees arent allowed to buy Wiis or PS3s. i already have one so i dont care but is this... legal?

im going to try to pick up another one for my sisters kids, and see what happens.

There are plenty of ways around that. Like giving an insider tip to a family member or friend so that they can pick one up for you....

I know target will only let you buy one if you stand in line with everyone, and you are off the entire day. (was some Target employees picking them up when I got my wii 2 weeks ago).

yea, I'm sure they do. If they wanted to be wholesalers, they wouldn't spend so much money trying to get retail customers into their stores, and providing customer service.

in fact if they knew the item was going to be resold, I'm fairly certain they would refuse to sell it to an ebay reseller.

And how do you expect Best Buy to know who is purchasing for resale purposes? They don't care - their only means of preventing this is by limiting the console sales to 1 per person. Individually, I'm sure it would upset employees to give up a console that is going to be thrown on eBay.. but as a business, they're getting their money regardless. Resale makes the world go round.

I think a majority of retailers are getting them on the 17th.. Target, Walmart, BB, etc.. etc...

Go here, type your zip and you'll see that everyone is listing "December 17th" as the next anticipated shipment. Wii Seeker

Generally if someone at Best Buy has told you "they will have them" on December 17th, that means that this Sunday's add has them listed and the consoles are already there sitting in the back but they're not allowed to sell them until Sunday. I used to work at a Best Buy in the games, and that's what we did if we got something in early that was not in the upcoming Sunday add.

Even though BB is making the same on the console (basically $0). Resalers dont usually pick up Service plans, accessories, & extra games which is where the money is made. i think the only extra stuff they would buy are controls, but only because they can price gouge those too.

I bought one at Best Buy and didn't pick up a service plan or any accesories... lol. And so did the 2 guys in front of me. I was in line with my fiancee and could have had her buy a console for resale... but I didn't feel like going through the hassle of it around the holidays.
