More TSA "touching".

Sounds like she's looking for some press.
I'd rather say it sounds like you're a complete asshole.

Woman claims she was inappropriately touched for a prolonged period of time, causing her to be distressed and miss her flight; your solution is for her to arrive earlier, so that staff has more time to touch inappropriately.

...Sociopath much?

When will this stop? Gov't (ahem) personnel "playing doctor" with potential airline passengers?

As much as it saddens me to admit - I have seen a lot of people grossly exaggerate the TSA's molestation to get attention. Not saying thats the case but *shrug*

I lost a lot of hope for it ending when the whole 'Pocket Knives' thing came around. Here we finally have the TSA trying to loosen some of its policies and the backlash from lawmakers, passengers and flight attendants was so strong they reversed their decision. America wants the TSA while at the same time they want to hate the TSA

It will not end as Americans have accepted it as the new normal. Had they boycotted flying when it was first anounced we would have seen changes, but now we accept it.
It also will not change because Congressmen get around it, thus they aren't subject to the abuses. Nothing gets changed until a congressmen gets wronged or a bribe.

I think he is assuming she is exaggerating the inappropriate touching part for attention.

So she knows ahead of time subject to a pat down? How about getting there a little earlier and arrainge for the search in a more conrolled fashion like a closed room with husband present.

Sounds like she's looking for some press.

Agreed.
IF it has happened previously; she needs to ensure that she is there will enough time to allow the extra "hour" for screening.

TSA guidelines state 2 hrs anyhow; show up 30 minutes and take your chances.

Pat the inner thigh and it generates the justification for a incident.

North Koreans would tell you to obey Dear Leader and his Guard too.

The TSA is abhorrent anti-Americanism. Procedual sexual assault. Anyone condoning it should be thrown out of the country.

The TSA could be randomly raping female passengers with their penises and not just their hands and most sheeple would do nothing about it.

Don't like it? Don't fly.
The government only has to make reasonable accommodations for religious beliefs (prudishness is religious), and the fact is that weapons are physical objects that can be hidden on a person, so it is completely unreasonable to accommodate said belief and exempt a search.

Either get over it or accept that your religion is incompatible with the material preconditions for commercial flight.

We don't know since no elaboration on what was touched and how long. If the agent grabbed vag I would agree. Pat downs might involve getting close to inner thigh. I've had them before. Didn't much like it but its SOP in lieu of scanning.

Orrrr speak out against unreasonable invasive useless searches?

No problem, speak out all you wish. Just don't get pissed when you miss your flight because you spoke too much.

Of course I will get pissed about an unreasonable search which results in me missing my flight and costing me money. How whipped do you have to be before you speak out?

There is no justification for a pat down to take a freaking hour. Period end of freaking discussion. These fools should be fired for being incompetent if it took them that long.

Seriously what did they do completely disassemble the damn wheel chair and put it back together?

That's completely ignoring the whole "touching" crap.

After Don't-touch-my-junk-guy and She-touched-my-vagina-girl uploaded their contrived videos it's hard to take these people seriously.

I fly a few times a year and no one from the TSA has touched my penis. It's starting to effect my self esteem.

It's not like she didn't know the procedure

Her husband told Local 6 by phone Thursday evening it happens every time she flies. Because she can't walk through the body scanner or metal detector, TSA policy dictates she must get a pat-down, that she claims was uncomfortable.

How soon are you told to get to the airport ahead of your flight? 2 hours? How do you know that this lady got there 30 minutes before here flight and even if she could have gone through the scanners would not have made her flight?

TSA spokesperson said both Jana and her wheelchair set off an alarm, explosives experts were called in, and she was screened in a private room with the door closed. The spokesperson went on to say her screening did not take over an hour. Rather, from the time she stepped into line, to when she left the screening, it was less then 40 minutes.

Gotta love the kneejerk conspiracy nuts.

As much of a right-winger that I am, what you are referring to is unlawful search & seizure. Guess what? You can walk away. That is the difference. You want to ride that plane, but nothing says you have to.

Now if you turn around and they tell you to STOP and demand a search/pat-down, then you can quote the bill of rights.

First of all, I would trust TSA agents to be truthful as far as I could throw one. I was never arguing about the time it takes for a pat down. I am arguing about the patdowns are too invasive and ineffective. Those bomb chemical tests have so many false positives it's ridiculous. She says 6 "agents" were involved with her interrogation/pat down. Ridiculous.

I don't know who the lady is in the article so I could give 2 shits about her. I just care about her rights. I have to fly on Friday and I'm not looking forward to being violated by so called tsa "agents" :/

I never said illegal, I said unreasonable. I know what my alternatives are but practically speaking, there are none. I don't think I can take a bus to England and I'm not getting on a boat lol. I suppose I could use my transporter

I fly several times a year (I use to average 100 plus flights a year between 1990 - 2008) and never had any of these "unreasonable searches". I wonder if it has to do with the fact I remove all metal items from my clothes and am prepared to pass through security when I reach the scanner. Unlike touristas that forget they have something in their pockets and have to go back through the scanner or get sent over for detailed security inspection.

I can't go through the scanners so I have to get the anal pat down unfortunately. Regardless, I wouldn't want to go through the scanners anyways.

Call me crazy but I always assumed that we had an implied freedom to travel about the country freely using the methods of the day.

Now if you turn around and they tell you to STOP and demand a search/pat-down, then you can quote the bill of rights.

What if you are on the sidewalk and the .gov decides that you must pass through TSA in order to travel on any and all public property? Sure you want to travel beyond your own property, but nothing says you have to.

Now if the airlines themselves were doing this then there would be no constitutional issue but they are not. And regardless of what you think, it is unreasonable to extensively and thoroughly detain and search a person for absolutely no reason. Heck, pretty much the definition of unreasonable..... without reason...
