Perhaps the people will now see who the true enemy is and respond accordingly

Yeah, they're probably thinking "until those fvcking Americans got here we never had these problems!"
riiiiiight

Well a whopping two (you know, one two) percent of Iraqis see the Americans as liberators.

Sounds like a great reason for the US to pull out its troops and let the Iraqis fix their own country.

They had nearly 15 years since Gulf War I to 'fix' their country. They were not able to.

So why should we be doing it for them if they refuse to clean up their own country? Do you think that once we leave that it'll stay nice and clean? If so then I know some liberals who are selling these things called 'pipe dreams'. The simple solution is to ban the immigration of anyone from the Middle-East. It's as simple as that my friend and does not take 800+ dead U.S. soldier to enforce this little solution. Redoply our troops onto our borders and put up fences and land mines. Illegal immigration problem and 99% of any sort of terrorist inflitration into this country solved !

If you think that will stop terrorists, you are in la la land. There have been terror suspects nabbed who have hailed from all parts of the world, you think that if they wanted to attack the US they just wouldn't train someone from, say England or Australia to "infiltrate" the US to carry out their plot? Or by "anyone from the Middle East" did you mean ALL Muslims in general? Two very different things. Either way, unless you are willing to exclude over 1/6 of the world's population from entering the US your idea will be a total failure, not to mention the fact that it will never happen anyway.

Whatever works. If it takes excluding 1/6 of the population from over-running our shores then no problem. If muslims can't clean up their act then that's their problem. Also the only reason why it won't happen is because Bush and his gang along with the liberal left are to busy trying to appease foriegners and not willing enough to try to appease us at home.

Our elders went into Japan and banned the Samurai religion, so why not ban Islam in Iraq? Oh, n/m.... ;)

We may be 'in fact' liberators but more important to the Islamic believer residing as a citizen of Iraq is that we are the devil... the infidel bringing his glorious path to hell to temp the believer. Such is written about the devil.
I know how the Catholic church used to say that only Catholics went to heaven and never ever go into a non Catholic place of worship lest ye be tempted to give up what Jesus gave the Catholic.. Why would the Muslim feel differently being they tend to be more devote in their worship?

Why just Islamic believers in Iraq? Are you saying that it is impossible for Muslims to live with anyone of another faith since they belive they are all "the infidel bringing his glorious path to hell to temp the believer"

Sure it is possible for Muslims in the ME or in general to live with people of other faith. But it isn't helping when the United State bypassed UN, invaded a Muslim country and killed tens of thousand Muslims. It isn't helping when the United State supplies Israel with arms and money to kill Muslims, or unilaterally decides what peace process should look like without involving the Muslims. It isn't helping when the big oil businesses of the west collude with the corrupt SA regime, control the oil price and make huge amount of money off of the national resource of Muslim countries while average citizens in those countries live in poverty.

It is two way street, if the westerners expect Muslims to respect them, westerners need to stop giving lip services and actually do something to gain the respect of Muslim people.
