More than 3,000 stuck in SA mine

I'm originally from South Africa. The BBC is 100% right when they mention that the safety record is bad for SA mines. Many of those people are the only source of income for their families, and given that so many people down there have aids, I'll bet a good chunk of those families can't take care of themselves without their loved ones earning money in that mine.

I really hope they bail out those miners....so many lives.

Hmm.. im guessing my dad is already on a plane over there. I'll have to get an update from him. He works with the Australian and South African governments on mine safety...

Hopefully something good happens after all the recent mine disasters have ended pretty badly...

looks like they will be able to lift them out 75 miners at a time, and the area where they are trapped in is well ventilated :)
