Paratus,

do you have any insider info on what happened with the Russian computers when the new solar panels got hooked up?

Nothing more than what you can find on the Space.com forums.

The problem isn't with the computers it's with the power source. Basically it refuses to remain on, so the Russians have put in a bypass to force it on. The problem probably lies in the fact that the US side uses a single point ground and the Russian segment uses a floating point ground. Not the best design to mix and match but that's what happens when politicians make engineering decisions  .

They first started having problems about the same time we attached the new truss segment so we've been investigating ground loops associated with the new truss.

Wait, because you work at Mission Control, these are special inside NASA pictures, no where else to be found, or can these be found online anywhere, or at Nasa's site?

THANKS

P.S. My bad, thought maybe you were sharing some SPECIAL inside only pics. 🙁

Hey the taxpayers pay for this stuff so all the best pictures end up on spaceflight.nasa.gov

Besides I know which flights and times to find the cool pictures so you don't have too 😉
