More Raid woes...

Ok, I ordered the HighPoint RocketRaid 464 PCI raid controller card

Today, I installed it in my file server, being as meticulous as possible along the way.

I installed all of the drives, and hooked them up properly (master/slave jumpers all correct) and in booting, the raid bios pops right up! I am trying to run a raid 5 array with 8x160gb ATA100 HD's (all 8mb all 7200rpm cache) actually all but one are WD caviars, the other is a segate 7200.7.

In the raid bios, I select all of the drives to be in the same array, and do a Zero build (writes zeros accross all drives to get rid of any pesky data on there.) It took about 6 hours, but it kept plugging along, and before I knew it, The Raid bios was reporting a working 1.12 TB Raid 5 array! Great...I thought... but I should have never let myself think it would be that easy...

For some reason unbenounced to me, the 2 "raid controller card"(s) in device manager have exclamation points next to them, even after installing the updated driver from the web site...

I'm thinking it's either an IRQ problem, or a power issue...

here's my setup

2 power supplies (425w / 400w)
DFI Lanparty UT Nf3 250gb
Athlon 64 2800+ (754)
1gb Corsair PC3200 DDR400 Value Ram (2x512)

40 gb system drive (primary IDE Master)
floppy drive

8x160gb "raid array"

geforce 3

floppy

I really have no clue what to do from here, any/all help/advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for the quick responses, I'm goin nutz here!

it says is a problem witht the divice, or somehting to that effect, even after installing drivers and rebooting

I'm @ work right now, so I can't see the exact wording...

ttt... anybody care to hazard a guess, I'm thinking the drivers just don't work with mce 2k5.... is unbutu linux good for a file server?

I am having the same issues.

I have Highpoint 464 PCI card w/ 4 300GB Western Digital drives connected. I set them up as raid 5 with zero build. That went flawless. The trouble starts after I install the drivers for Windows XP. After I install the drivers and reboot I went to check in the hardware under system, and both raid controllers have a exclamation in front of them, error This device cannot start. (Code 10) . Thinking its some kind of IRQ conflict I try different slots for the raid controller. No luck. I get same error. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. It leads me to believe something is messed up with the card or driver for windows xp.

If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Oh here is my system specs:

AMD Athlon 3200+
Chaintech VNF3-250
1gig ram
Ati 9800 pro
