Can someone explain how IBM is that successful. I mean their laptops are ok, their servers I have never seen in a data center, I know they do some data center services. But is it that they are getting royalties for past patents or what?

wow pepsi isn't even in the picture

Pepsi is #22. As reference, Google is 24, Sony is 26, Apple is 39, Motorola is 69, and Starbucks is 91.

Meh - that list proves nothing. Wendy's is far superior to McDonalds, but you don't see Wendy's on that list. So this certainly does not prove that Coke is better than Pepsi (even though I do personally think Coke is better).

While I agree with you on the Wendys thing it's not a fact, just an opinion.

I too believe coke is superior. Pepsi products are just too sickly sweet.....and Sierra Mist....God donn't get me started on that crap.

SPRITE OR DIE!!!!

I know, but it compounds the universal truth of one over the other. 😛

Coke is a world-wide brand. When I was in Europe, I didn't see Pepsi products, yet Coke was everywhere. It's obvious that Pepsi has really been pushing for market share, but I have to say that neither of them are healthy because of high sugar, carbonation, and additives...thus my use of the products is on the decline since my childhood.

I do have to say, Coke was first bottled here in Chattanooga, TN. (coca-cola building downtown (now restaurant district)and the facility on "Amnicola Highway"(still in use today) 😀 So there is a little more pride in thier success, though I'll never see any of the money made on THAT deal. 😛

There are plenty of Pepsi products here in East-Europe. Don't know about the western part much in that regard though. Anyways, I prefer Coca. Never really liked Pepsi. I remember that under the communism Coca was widely available here but I can't recall Pepsi being available in that period. I can be wrong ofc.

The second sentence there shows you don't know a thing about IBM. Let's go over a few key points:

*IBM sold their unprofitable PC division to Lenovo over a year ago
*IBM is a HUGE player in the server industry and theirs are some of the BEST out there, hands down
*One word: WebSphere. WebSphere is a HUGE software product that I only have an inkling of knowledge for, but when a LOT of Fortune 500 companies (Think Wal-Mart, Fedex, UPS, Home Depot, etc etc etc etc) use this software to run their entire business, you know its the big shiz.
*Patents: I'm sure you can google and find out how many patents IBM has.
*Service & support: What happens after IBM sells the big software license or hardware system? They service and support it.

Now imagine them doing that in most every technologized (yes I just made up my own word) country in the world.

CHA-CHING

Growing up, I liked Pepsi better...but now, I've definitely gotta go with Coke. Their diet drinks (diet coke/coke zero) are worlds better than Pepsi's. But that's just my opinion; and seeing as how I'm from Atlanta, I'd probably be hanged if I thought any differently.

I thought Dr. Pepper was a pepsi product or independent. Our school and workplace are both pepsi-only and they both have Dr. Pepper. In any case, Dr. Pepper ~ Mr. Pibb > *

You forgot about Db2 OS/390 etc. which are all still cludging around across the universe. They also own rational now which seems to sneak its way around places.

Actually, I think you're right; Dr. Pepper, as far as I know, is an indepedent product...but it does always seem to be offered alongside pepsi products. Good call; time to edit my post.

There's a reason why it's called Coke. It's more addictive than Crack.

Beat me to it. LoLoL. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

I live near Bellingrath Gardens, which was the orignally a coke-a-cola company. Port city here, was a main line for Columbia. Crazy that they used to put that stuff in a soda pop.

Personallly I like PEPSI out a can, but Coke if i have a glass and ice cubes.
Too many bubbles in coke and pepsi poured out is flat.

Dr. Pepper is independent, and depending on what area of the country you're in it could be bottled by Coca-Cola, Pepsi, or someone else entirely.
