about 1 minute after i start prime, it passes a few test then i get prime95 has encountered an error and must shut down. there are no error in prime but i get that message. any ideas?
Haven't seen that... Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling p95. Sounds more like a software problem. Did you make any changes that would affect stability?
forget P95TT and move on with your life Shady I just the other day had check sum errors in DVD2SVCD when p95tt ran buttery smooth for extended periods. It's too narrowly confined in what errors it detects IMO and I have DC projects to run that I actually use so I can't have that POS taking up processor time
bjc112, the vdimm helped in other ways: i ram my barton and the throughbred i was referring to thru hot cpu tester pro 3. with the added vdimm BOTH passed the Pi test, the complex matrix test, quick sort, memory, and Prime. hot cpu test runs all these tests at the simutaneously for 6 hours and both chips passed all the test so i'm gonna put my stable stamp on it.
antec 380W truepower. i think i'm happy enough with it passing Pi test, the complex matrix test, quick sort, memory, and Prime simutaneously with hot cpu tester
You've lost me!!! I though you said it wouldn't pass prime??? Which is it....Prime is such a simple numbers program it is usually quite rare there is a bug in the software....cputester is nice that it raises the temps up but is not as thorough a tester as prime95....I have done pi on a divx, autocadd2002 rendering non stable cpu so I am not as impressed with that testing program as well....
I run p95 for 6 hours with 3dmark2k1se looped in for 2 hours....then I run 10pass all test cache on memtest86....Then I actually run my programs through the ringer on rendering test, encoding test and if it passes I am happy....
