When the Dems were reported doing this by paying off bloggers, none of you guys seemed to care.

So why should anyone care when the Repubs are caught?

Or are you just being your usual hypocrtiical selves?

Lets see. Dean spent his own money to hire a consultant on blogs who also has his own blog and it was no securt that he was a hired consultant. Compared to Bush spending tax payer money to pimp his polices and with out having the journalist disclose it.

Not the MSM. And they have a long way to go before they do become part of the media establishment. Your jab at the Dean campaign falls flat on its face. That wasn't using taxpayer dollars to further a specific agenda over the airwaves.

More like you are splittnig hairs. Blogs have every equal capability to influence people's politics as news.

I need to find that recent study I read that shows how many people now get their information from blogs. You would be surprised.

The point was that there WERE DISCLAIMERS on DailyKos stating that they were paid by the Dean campaign. PLUS, and try to pay attention here, it was PRIVATE MONEY! PRIVATE, NOT PUBLIC TAXDOLLARS. So TLC, quit while you're behind and stop trying to use that "incident" as a "but they" defense.

Yes please, I'd like to see a peer-reviewed study that shows blogs are equal to mainstream media in influencing the people's politics.

The reality is probably like this: people who already have a certain political view find blogs who's author's opinions reinforce that view, while everything else is discarded as "partisan bias". Similar to how talk radio shows like Rush and Franken are...

Interesting ... is this the story you were referring to, TastesLikeChicken, in your comparison to Democrats paying off bloggers? If so, you should really be ashamed of yourself for throwing such a strawman.

I find it remarkable that really strong supporters can refuse to admit their party/leader/whatever has ever done any wrongdoing. I'm an independent, and I'm outraged by this. I would be equally outraged if a democrat had done the same.

Tasteslikechicken:

You comparing a Blog to a columnist is really unfair comparison. Columnists are supposed to present THEIR opinion in the news media, any payment from the administration presents a conflict of interests. Why do you think that other guy (forgot his name) lost his job after it was discovered that he was paid to promote No Child Left Behind? Blogs are not held accountable because they are not held to any standards. On the other hand, columnists are held to certain standards which include not being bought out.

It's freaking remarkable that some of you guys (both conservative/liberal, etc.) are blind enough to ignore any mistakes your party has made. Unbelievable!

It was campaign money, the Dean campaign. Markos "screw 'em" Zuniga was paid by Dean to be a mouthpiece. Whether he admitted it by stashing away a disclaimer on his site or not, he was still a paid mouthpiece and when it was brought up it was either ignored or defended by the likes of people such as you. This boils down to principles.

Yet you excuse one while you want to lambaste the other.

You're a hypocrite, plain and simple.

I guess that Kos should've had a bigger disclaimer for lameasses like yourself. You repugnant people keep grasping at straws trying to hold on to some semblance of self-respect. And for when you find that one short, ridiculous argument or example, you grasp onto it with all your might, because not-so-deep-down you know that your arguments hold no water. You know it.

Dean having a paid mouthpiece and making it publically known. OMG NO!!!

Bush using public tax money, MY TAX DOLLARS to spread false endorsements and false news articles all over mainstream media is ok, I guess. You and all your screwed-up ilk are disgusting.

First of all, I'm not pardoning anything that Armstrong did. I hope they take him throiugh the wringer and rake him over the coals. If he's lucky, he'll get a slap on the wrist though like Dan Rather and his cronies.

Second of all, the Republicans are not "my party." I'm a registered Independent. I have absolutely no reason or motivation to support either Republicans or Bush. My motivation is to counter the lies and hypocrisy spread by the new liberal liars that are so prolific in presence these days. I can't stand those fools. They are loaded full of themselves and full of crap as well and somebody needs to knock it out of them. That's why I'm here and for no other reason. I don't give a crap about Bush.

Understand?

Ok. He is definitely a hypocrite, as are many others here. I do have a question for you. Do you think that this was wrong? You've been doing nothing but bringing up the hypocracy of others while dodging the main point. Please answer this question.
