Which is why that oil isn't even going to the US...they're going to sell it to China/Japan if/when they pull it out.

The benefit doesn't depend on where teh oil ends up... the corporate and jobs benefit goes to the owner of the production company, and the jobs go to the people hired.

The (tiny, for a field of this size) price decrease is shared worldwide.

I still don't really support the action though. And yes, I'm willing to pay the extra penny at the pumps for gasoline, or curb my fuel usage, in order to pay for the environmental benefit.
