I could care less what Hamas wants, the question is what do the Palestinians want ?
You need to keep up. There is no such thing as a "Palestinian." The Arabic people most commonly referred to in that generic term haven't lived there in over 60 years. It is like your grandfather lived in Poland as a child, left for New York because his parents did not want to be German or Russian and you now claim to be Polish and want the old subsistence farm back. That just happens to have a huge apartment block on it now full of Poles that say chuck you, Farley.
Worse, the people who claim Palestinian right of return are so factionally divided that no one can figure out who represents their interests. No one ever has, no one will, no matter how many, like Hamas, make that claim. And not like they had anything resembling a country like Poland to begin with. They were Jordanians! And Jordan doesn't want them either.
I expect that not too many modern Palestinians really want to live in the nihilistic theocracy that Hamas is shooting all those other Palestinians for, though many cheer them on when they aim their rockets at Israeli kids.
As is typical in the Mid-East, you might pick the least onerous faction, close your eyes to their particular corruption and hope for the best. Expect to be massively disappointed no matter how you choose, no matter what course you advocate.
